Although the I hear he is from the future part was available in the teaser Mahindra Automotive posted yesterday, there is a separate 15 second teaser posted again - The future of the SUV-verse.

The text DIAMOND-WATCH/0248 caught my attention.

Ran the clip in slow motion. All I noticed was some blueprints/snapshots from System Software, GPS, etc.

Just thinking if they have something that supersedes Adrenox? Even if not, I strongly think that an extended version of this clip would be the next teaser.

Has Mahindra designed the teasers very intelligently to really tease, thereby increasing the curiosity? Or am I reading too much? stupid:

In my Thar 2020, there is already so much headroom even when I have my seat at the highest position and I am 6'2" tall. There is around 6-8 inches of room above my head in my Thar hard top. I think the new Scorpio's roof will most likely be a foot above the driver's head! Yes, it will look quite formidable like a big daddy, but it's not necessarily good for handling, NVH or fuel efficiency.

Try to sit in xuv700 and see how much headroom you get at the lowest setting. Taller doesn't mean additional headspace, in-adequate headroom for 6ft plus people was the reason not to buy xuv700.

Man I am excited by this car. Going by recent launches elsewhere and if this teaser is any indication, personally I don't see any other option but Mahindra if someone wants a reasonably priced rugged big SUV that is reliable, fairly stylish and has fair bit of technology.

Tata has Harrier/Safari twins but they hardly seem as reliable or rugged as Mahindra not to mention engine/gb combo that Mahindra can provide are simply not available in Tata's catalog. Or at the top of the lineup, Tata does not have AWD nor is there any rumors of AWD being introduced any time soon. Its a shame because Harrier looks so good.

To me, Mahindra is producing fantastic vehicles with unbeatable USPs at their respective price points and I am sure upcoming Scorpio will be nothing different. Though I wait with bated breath for 5 door Thar. Exciting time for buyers in this segment!

P.S. That teaser is much better if you just turn off the audio. The audio is real cringe. In typical Mahindra fashion, they have gone overboard but all is excused because the product seems promising.

Yes it does. I find it the ugliest part of the XUV 500 and it’s there on the 700 and now the Scorpio too.:Frustrati:Frustrati

Scorpio was the only "clean-design" in Mahindra's portfolio and now that is getting changed gradually. See how Toyota rolls out cool and clean designs one after the other - Fortuner, Land Cruiser, Urban Cruiser, and even Innova Crysta. Look at this Land Cruiser. Even with this much of a body kit, it doesn't look overdone. May be because of the black colour.

On the WhatsApp status of Mahindra sales advisor of the Pune dealership - the one where I got my Marazzo from.

Almost an XUV5OO!

This just seems like one of the many renders that have been doing rounds since years now. Just the shape of the headlights give it away

Did they just throw in The Godfather's soundtrack into the teaser?
It sounds really similar, and feels pretty juvenile.
I think Mahindra really needs to find a better marketing/video team.

The teaser talks about D segment and therefore my guess is that it would be something in the Alturas territory. Surely they cannot be putting Scorpio in the D segment. If this guess is right, then we might be seeing a Fortuner rival with Mahindra offering all the high tech in that vehicle and may be something more. It would be quite interesting to know.

XUV 900 is my bet. Scorpio can't compete in D segment. It would be a redesign of Alturas and relaunch it with XUV 900 moniker. :Cheering:

That's my guess.

The teaser looks pretentious & immature, especially the "big daddy" part is cringeworthy.

Presently, from the interior scoops, this doesn't look like a challenger to the D Segment at all.

Free Advice to Mahindra : Pay for a good a music composer & get an Original sound-track by selecting the targeted audience for the car. Simple enough ?

Weird that they still have the old badge on.
Random observations.
1. Grab handle on the A pillar only on the passenger side. Hope this is just a testing model thing.
2. Loses the hydraulic struts for the bonnet.
3. Chrome bits galore, especially the bit in the rear bumper surrounding the reverse lights looks tacky and about to fall off.
4. Looks like they will be sticking on some plastic cladding bits on the rear door in some future facelifts.

Rear tailgate is still missing few trims, one below the windshield (chrome stripe probably), logo too seems to be missing.

Looks awesome, just need to remove some chrome. See front parking sensor inserts also.
