Hello bhpians.

Here's latest round of info on the upcoming Scorpio.

1. Even though the Scorpio 2022 will be based on an all new platform, the ride quality is not expected to see a huge improvement over the current Scorpio.

2. According to my sources, the seats in the new Scorpio offer excellent underthigh and back support and they won't have much by way of contouring like in the XUV700.

3. The halogen headlamps on the new Scorpio are said to be extremely powerful just like the current Scorpio and yes Mahindra is indeed testing an all LED setup on the new Scorpio.

4. Even though prototypes of the new Scorpio have been spotted with a dual zone climate control, it is not yet decided whether the final production Scorpios will have this feature.

5. After the fiasco of the algorithm based deliveries for the XUV700, Mahindra will most likely do away with any such thing for the new Scorpio. It's likely to have a "first come first serve" based delivery system.

That's all for now. Stay tuned for more info.:thumbs up

Thanks for the juicy scoopsclap:

All new platform? I thought it was the same Gen3 platform that underpins the current Scorpio and Thar. Ofcourse, improved. Guess, that would explain why the ride quality is not a huge improvement.

Not expecting magic carpet ride, but hope it is atleast tolerable. Some respite from the horrible lateral movement. Or atleast have more suspension travel. :disappointed

At the time we took delivery of our Thar - 29th July '21 - the dealers (Royal Motors, Kolkata) waxed eloquent about the new "pan-India" method of delivery etc. I did not pursue the matter with him as I was relieved our waiting period had been curtailed from (9 months to 5 months, due to a cancelled booking). Now I'm wondering if this was the same algorithm method applied later to the XUV700, and which apparently did not work out.

Thanks for the updates.

Upcoming Mahindra Scorpio rendered in different colours.

Why are none of the spy shots able to get a view of the 3rd row? :)

Even otherwise, any information on if the 3rd rows have A/C vents? I am sure, this would be a deciding factor for large families (or even small families with dogs).

After having test driven the XUV700, & explored it in detail, i fear the Scorpio might just be as cramped nin the 3rd row than any competitor. Even Alkazar, Karen's & Ertiga felt better. Safari is leagues ahead in terms of space (the fit & finish is not good at eye level IMO as compared to competition where the poorer grade plastics are at lower levels of dash).

However the diesel engine is a gem on the XUV700, & so should it be on the the Scorpio.

Thanks CARDEEP. At least, in my case, 3rd row is mainly for our four legged family member. So, A/C vents take priority over the seating space.

But yes, I agree. A 3rd row usable by at least 2 medium built human beings would be a hit!

Adding to the conversation about third-row space, a Youtuber managed to capture some footage of the boot space and third row:

Judging from the footage, the boot space with all seats up is negligible and the third row seems to be very cramped. Looks like this next-gen ScorpioN still carries forward the poor interior space packaging of the current-gen Scorpio. In other news, the new ScorpioN gets rear fan speed controls and the same infotainment and instrument cluster setup of the XUV7OO MX variant.

Although not exactly a 90-degree as proclaimed in the video's title, this is a fairly steep hill-climb test video that some youtuber has managed to shoot.

It should be 45 degrees, not 90. 90 degrees means an airlift!

Test mules found in Tamil Nadu. Gives good idea about dimensions and propositions.

Even 45 deg would be a bit hard to swallow!:D. No information yet about the 4WD features - LSD, BLD etc?

The rear looks very Xylo-ish for sure.

Spotted by our friendly neighbourhood AutoSpy on the streets of Pune earlier in the morning today.
