Seems like a lower spec model with the Halogen Single Headlamp setup, instead of the bi-LED or Projector+Halogen setup seen till now. Glad to see a Rear Wiper even in this variant, it should become standard in all vehicles, like in the Nissan Magnite.

This guy claims that this is the tail light of the upcoming 2022 Scorpio. Says he will receive the headlights soon.

Looks like the aftermarket will get their hands on the parts and be ready with their products by the time it launches.

And looking at the red blank(?) section of the tailights, most will be tempted to change the lights. IMHO will be disappointed if the whole light doesn't light up and it has the current LED strip style lighting inspite of the huge tailight size.

A panoramic sunroof would be absolutely amazing. that would mean that the Scorpio will have most of the main consumer attractions (a branded audio system, a huge sunroof, led lights all around, 360-degree camera, and the beefy looks)

and since it will be priced lower than the xuv700, this WILL be Mahindra's next big thing :Cheering:

Hello bhpians,

Just confirmed from my sources that Mahindra is indeed testing panoramic sunroof equipped variants of the all new Scorpio. But they are mainly testing it to see how much of an impact a panoramic sunroof will have on the crash rating as compared to a normal sunroof. The Scorpio is achieving a 4 star rating in internal tests but Mahindra is finding it difficult to make it a 5 star rated one.

Mahindra has plans of integrating a panoramic sunroof in the new Scorpio but it's highly unlikely that it will get one at launch. So it will only get a normal sunroof at launch.

More exciting dope will be dished out shortly. So stay tuned for that.:thumbs up

Looking at the camouflaged picture shared above, isn't the roof stepped? Can it accommodate the panoramic sunroof? Or will Mahindra also pull off a Tata, by giving the Scorpio's top-end variant a flat roof with stepped roof-rails.

Edit: Was seeing some other spyshots and the roof is clearly stepped! I wonder how the panoramic sunroof will be accommodated?

Is this because of similar issues to the Mahindra Thar? It looks like Mahindra were trying for 5 adult stars for the Thar but the footwell ruptured during the frontal test which made the Thar ineligible for a kneemapping verification sled test (with the larger 95th percentile dummy to demonstrate that similar knee/femur protection is provided to occupants of larger size) so it lost additional points and couldn't score five stars.

If they're aiming for 4 under the July-onwards protocol then that would be quite a commendable achievement. IMO six airbags+ESC as standard spec would be neat even if it's not necessary for a high rating. Under the new protocol it's possible to score a full five star adult rating even with a frontal test that's acceptable (like the Thar) but not necessarily excellent, for example this Chevrolet Onix and this Toyota Corolla (which had footwell rupture like the Thar). The side impact becomes just as important (as well as the additional tests).

They also really ought to improve the ESC performance compared to the Thar, which apparently showed weak performance beyond GTR8 requirements.

If the next generation Mahindra Scorpio does perform well I have a small hunch we might see a spectacular car-to-car crash test for the tenth anniversary of Safer Cars for India. 2013 Mahindra Scorpio vs 2023 Mahindra Scorpio. Something along the lines of this (1:10):

I remember in the weeks leading upto the Bajaj F250 and N250 reveal a couple of automotive sites were editing Bajaj badges onto the BMW K1600 and saying it was the new Bajaj 250 because the headlight arrangement on the K1600 is similar to that found on the Pulsar 220F.
