Nice. Looks unmistakably Scorpio. You can't mistake it for any other car and even if one doesn't know about this launch, will straightaway figure out its a Scorpio.



Am sure a lot of thought would have gone into the design considering existing Scorpio is a 'legend' and too much deviation from the existing one in terms of exterior design might work adversely. Thankfully Mahindra hasn't gone overboard and this looks mature.

And going by this tweet from Anand Mahindra, this should be pretty safe.

The feature of 'Driver Drowsiness Detection' is spelt as 'Drowsy' detection in the slide showing specs of Z8 L variant.

Are they not sure what the actual name of the feature is?

Looking at the variant wise feature distribution, the W4 looks pretty well equipped and would fit the bill for me A few things bother me though:

1. Reverse camera is a must for such a huge vehicle. Cant imagine it being restricted to W8 only

2. Looks like 6 air bags is only available W8 onwards

ScorpioN is surely another winner on the cards for Mahindra and I'm so proud of what Mahindras and Tatas have been offering off late.

Without a doubt, the ScorpioN will join hands with the XUV700 in making prospective buyers plan and book their next car atleast 12 to 18 months ahead. Such is going to be the long waiting period for these quite capable, handsome looking cars with great engines.

4WDAT - took a while to understand it is 4WD AT (how much difference hitting spacebar makes)

The content design team was really rushed it seems, almost last minute, or someone forgot to do the proofreads properly, that too for such an important car for the company.

The presentation/video was totally redundant and not necessary. They took away every element of surprise with videos released in past few days. Everything was officially released, this event just released variant info, details on suspension specifically and some slight feature walk through, and the dates, not even price, that too could have been done like the previous videos, releasing random videos at a time.

However, the car looks promising and ride looks well sorted. Waiting till the embargo ends and reviews come out!
