Hi,

I can see increased competition in compact SUV category. ix25 has a freshness in design from outgoing Creta.

DRL and bonnet area resembles Harrier. May be Harrier has set a trend for others to follow.

Headlights and tail lights looks bit busy in red colour. How it looks in other colours need to be checked. Upper tail lamps joining end to end looks good and premium, reminds me of old Evoque.

Let us see what all features are being launched in India.

Re: 2020 Hyundai Creta / ix25 breaks cover

Seems weird from a few angles. I am fine with the front, but that back is strange at best for me.
Also for some reason it seems to look smaller than it actually is.

Re: 2020 Hyundai Creta / ix25 breaks cover

Is it just me or this contraption looks ugly AND weird! From no angle does the car appeal to me, the front grill is horrendous, and what's with the super busy and complicated headlight setup? Whatever happened to simple clean designs! IMHO the current Creta looks much better.

Re: 2020 Hyundai Creta / ix25 breaks cover

Ugh! I liked the first gen better. Current one is manageable. But this one's grille and rear are downright ugly. I thought only Fiat had this problem of making absolutely stunning designs for first versions of cars (Punto, Linea, Palio) and then ruining it in 2nd version onwards (may be Palio was still ok in facelift; but others...).

I guess they decided to take fluid out of fluidic

Looking at this makes me feel that DC should not shut shop in India and hang in a few more years. Finally his irksome design philosophy is being mainstreamed by mass manufactures. What an absolutely disgusting looking car. It is a pity that it would still manage to sell owing to its strong DNA. Hyundai sort of revolutionised the design language for me specially with Verna. Even their most basic offering Eon is so pleasing to the eye next to an Alto. But this is just nauseating.

Re: 2020 Hyundai Creta / ix25 breaks cover

No. No .No. This is unbelievably ugly. If this does come to India as the Creta, I'm pretty certain this will be by far the ugliest car on the road. If there was ever a case for an "evolutionary design", this was it. The Creta is a nice looking car and is doing really well. Why mess it up? Maruti better start ramping up production for the Brezza. I can see a lot of potential Creta clients go with the Brezza. The Harrier looks a million bucks compared to this. I wasn't too fond of the lower portion of the Harrier's headlights but compared to this, the Harrier looks awesome.

The interior though.... that's the good news story.

I'm sure Creta will not come with this Avatar to India. It suits Chinese taste, hence launched there with this bling.

Re: 2020 Hyundai Creta / ix25 breaks cover

Is it me or does anyone else also think that the front is highly inspired from Harrier? interiors are pretty luxurious but the that back makes me wanna stick to my current gen Creta. Do we have the confirmation that Hyundai is going to launch the updated version version as is?

I have bought 2 Hyundais in India in the last 1 year. The pre-face lift Creta and the facelifted Elite i20. Although both of these designs are not classic ones like a Vento or Polo, they are not offending to look at as well.

But when I look at the new design direction of Hyundai, even the face lifted Creta in India, I cannot understand why Hyundai is moving back to a cluttered design language. Even one of their most expensive cars, the Palisade, looks downright ugly and I would be surprised if the American Car market took to it well.

Similarly the new Creta and even the Venue look very overdone.
If this is the design language Hyundai is going to offer in the future, I would surely stay away from the brand.

Re: 2020 Hyundai Creta / ix25 breaks cover

Next Gen Creta will get the similar front grill as seen on the Venue- This is the new family look for Hyundai!
Even the rear could be part of the design to be carried over to Creta.

Re: 2020 Hyundai Creta / ix25 breaks cover

I am slightly confused If anyone could help please..
The i25 model is the next Creta or is it this Venue that will be the next Creta to be launched in India?

Thanks.

IX25 is the Creta. 4 metres plus.

The Venue is an all new car. 4 metres minus.

Re: 2020 Hyundai Creta / ix25 breaks cover

The design seems like a step away from the fluidic 2 elements. The main issue for me is the grill design. It's just over done. Hopefully there is a more subtle aftermarket option that will be made available. I like the headlamp and indicator style. It doesn't look out of place. The back on the other hand looks like its a totally different car. This segment is surely getting hot with this launch following the XUV 300. Looking forward to how the Breeza handles the competition. Unlike the others Hyundai can pose a challenge.

Re: 2020 Hyundai Creta / ix25 breaks cover

I am of the opinion that to reduce the bulk in the new large front grill, the split grill design like in Cruze will be a good option.
