Re: Isuzu D-Max V-Cross 1.9L 4x4 AT spied. EDIT : Now Launched at Rs. 19.99 lakhs

Some will be missing 4*4 too this time.

New variants to bring the starting prices lower.

Re: Isuzu D-Max V-Cross 1.9L 4x4 AT spied. EDIT : Now Launched at Rs. 19.99 lakhs

After seeing so many new snazzy launches seeing the picture of the “all new” V Cross, that too after a year’s gap, makes me feel I’m transported back to the early 2000s.

They seriously need to buck up and bring the latest iteration into India.

This is like cheating, sad if this is what we will get in the name of upgraded v-cross. The new one is so much superior, just on the looks if not anything else.
I mean yes India is not their biggest market, but to get the old model is a missed opportunity. I think they are only trying to enjoy the economies of scale with the d-max (commercial version) as the new one might not share much with it.

You can't build a brand like that, period.

Re: Isuzu D-Max V-Cross 1.9L 4x4 AT spied. EDIT : Now Launched at Rs. 19.99 lakhs

Earlier today, we had reported that the BS6 version of the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross was spotted at a dealership. It turns out that a second car was spotted at the dealership as well. It is the same generation of the V-Cross that has been on sale in the country.

The BS6-compliant D-Max V-Cross is likely to be powered by a 1.9-litre, turbocharged diesel engine. The mechanics at the dealership have revealed that only an automatic transmission variant of the pickup truck will go on sale for now. It will be available in rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations.

The four-wheel drive version gets part leather seats, ESP and hill descent control. The rear-wheel drive variant doesn't get these features. Both versions get keyless entry though.

Thanks to BHPian .anshuman for sharing this information with other enthusiasts!

Re: Isuzu D-Max V-Cross 1.9L 4x4 AT spied. EDIT : Now Launched at Rs. 19.99 lakhs

I was told by dealer last year that they expect an intermediate variant at close to 14-15L on road as private registration instead of Scab. Could that be this barebones one?

I was told the same by Bangalore dealer when I demanded that S-CAB to be sold as private registration (I was interested to buy through company lease plan). He mentioned that there will be a basic variant of V-Cross (Highlander variant) which will be priced around 15 lakhs on road.

Most likely. If they will sell automatic and 4x4 for 15 Lakhs. I'll buy it no matter what.

Isuzu can afford to be lazy with introducing the new model here, since they are pretty much the only lifestyle pickup truck seller in town.
Hopefully Ford and Toyota bring the Ranger and Hilux here soon. Will be great to have competition in this space.

If that is the case, I would snap it up, I can easily spruce this one up with an aftermarket ICE, rest I would just keep.

However, and this is THE dreaded however, I do not see it happening . The SCAB is sold under a commercial category, not sure if without ANY modifications if they will be allowed to sell it retail quoting a lower load capacity. Moreover, whats in it for Isuzu that will make them push the extra effort?

Can this scab or highland be a private vehicle in Karnataka? This is good deal if they think of pricing it well

Thanks

This is now corroborated with further inputs from other dealers and a source (cannot be disclosed) also told me that they might bring in the mighty "Hi-Lander" name for this bare bones variant.

Most importantly, the new VCROSS apparently WILL be based on the one released in Thailand, but will be north of 30L is what I am being told with the auto going to 34L OTR here in Chennai.

All will be revealed in the next 15-20 days.

And just like that, I am excitedly waiting again!

I guess it'll similar to this model launched in Nepal
An SCAB with 4X4 and safety features. Indian scab already has a BS6 2.5 litre version
Will be a VFM package for customisation.
I checked- Nepal gets its Isuzus from India only.
I hope there is a cheaper version with steel wheels too.

Re: Isuzu D-Max V-Cross 1.9L 4x4 AT spied. EDIT : Now Launched at Rs. 19.99 lakhs

This hi lander variant is very exciting news.

But i sat in the rear bench of a friend's Isuzu for a brief period in the mountains and here is my feedback:

1. Gearing seems messed up. 1st is too short and 2nd is far away.

2. Rear seats are terrible.

3. It really is a giant in the mountains, both width and length. Very tough to back up and let army trucks through on a half carriageway lol.

4. City usage will be nil.

I am keen, hence this is just feedback for myself. I think most owners would have fixed all this "feedback"?
