Re: West Bengal: Issues with paying Road Tax online

I tried to use the website to pay my taxes but the OTP never arrives. The website does show the correct mobile number and email when I query by RC/Chasis no. Anyone faced this?
Thanks.

I'm facing the same issue - not getting the otp while trying to pay road tax. Also tried updating my mobile number but in that case also the otp never arrives in the new number either.

Don't see the logic to keep a physical step since this could've been completed online.

I will be paying the Road Tax online for my 10 year old car which is due next month. Had the same queries as above.
Is there a need to visit the RTO once road tax is paid online, or is there any other steps to be done?

Me and my car both are not in Kolkata now and will probably be there sometime in January(i.e three months after the due date of tax payment)
The previous time I paid the 5 year lumpsum in 2016, I paid offline by visiting Beltala RTO. There was no physical inspection of the car.

No other steps needed. I had gotten the NOC issued for the same car earlier this year from the respective RTO office without any issues.

Thanks for the confirmation. Went ahead and paid the road tax online. Challan and tax invoice got generated
Will ignore the below 'tax clear upto'.

Checked with few of my friends who have paid online and all of them have the same 'clear upto' discrepancy!

Re: West Bengal: Issues with paying Road Tax online

While following this thread, let me ask a question, preparing myself to go through the ordeal of registering a Delhi registered Ford Figo in Bolpur ARTO. The Figo is a BSIV 2011 model.

1. NOC has been issued and sent to the Bolpur ARTO (47) - it took 6 weeks plus - given Delhi Govt's faceless initiatives of doing these processes online - Anyways.
2. I have got a print of the No Objection Certificate
3. I have also got the Form 28 - Car owned by other half, basically transferring/selling it to me in my Bolpur Address from Delhi.

What should be the next steps, if I need to do the whole process myself instead of going through an intermediary/tout.

What are the fees that I need to pay.

Looking forward to guidances. My sincere thanks to all in the forum for help.

Re: West Bengal: Issues with paying Road Tax online

Hi guys,

So I was trying to make a payment at the vahaan services website for my father in law's car.

This is the link. https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/

However, everytime I select online services>vehicle related services>west bengal, I am getting a 503 error for "server unavailable". Is anyone else facing this issue? I have been trying for the last 2 days but to no avail. Is it possible that the services are only available during office hours?

May I request you for an update on what all was needed to be done. Thanks

Have you considered that the online system may not be functional at all? The discrepancy may simply reflect that the amount you paid is not updated on your vehicle record.

If your vehicle RC record accessible on Parivahan does not show the updated period then as far as the authorities are concerned you have not paid the tax.

Thanks for the concern after nearly two years since I paid the tax.
There will be hardly anyone in Teambhp forum who will not check parivahan after paying the tax though.

P.S:- Parivahan gets updated within a day after paying the tax.

Sorry, kindly excuse.

WB is a strange state where motor vehicle officials advise against any online payment. I have personal experience in RC renewal, DL renewal, IDP and in all these cases I was warned not to pay online.

Can anyone assist with West Bengal road tax renewal? We paid 5 year road tax online through GRIPS and everything went well with the amount getting debited to the credit card, and a GRIPS Payment ID being generated.

However, the final redirection page froze and we could not retrieve the same - currently the monies stand debited but the transaction is unable to be located. Any thoughts please? The issue is West Bengal is not even showing as a dropdown in the Payments or Reverify payments pages!

EDIT 1: Escalated to the Parivahan helpline and email ID. The helpline confirmed that the payment has indeed gone through.

Will revert with their comments.

EDIT 2: Glad to say the Parivahan helpline quickly resolved the issue by generating and uploading the tax receipt. Impressed by the turnaround time!
