Scoop! Next-gen 2020 Hyundai Creta spotted testing in China

The first set of spy pictures of the next generation Creta which is also known as ix25 has been caught in Beijing

The next generation Hyundai Creta is expected to launch sometime next year in India with the latest global design language

Despite the heavy camouflage, we could see the sharper design cues such as the now-signature Cascading front grille, split type headlamps with eyebrow-like lights on top and wider front bumper with presumably new fog lamp enclosures.
The rear section appears to be more compact than the existing model.
The interior spy pictures do indicate the presence of beige seat upholstery and the door trim has been updated.
You could also see the chrome accents running across the surfaces for enhanced premium appeal.

Is it just me, or does this car's styling seem heavily borrowed from the harrier?

Attaching the pictures side by side for comparison

Infact Hyundai has this design language for products like Kona and Santa Fe. This design is catching up, which looked like a Joke on a Juke.

Few other SUVs also have a similar setup. Hyundai however seems to have carried it off better compared to the Harrier. I liked it, is in line with Hyundai's design language.

Also, another point to note is how Hyundai isn't shy about flaunting the new design alloys right away.

Ah, yes. You're right. I guess it's just a matter of timing, something similar to how the City and Ciaz came out with similar looking tail lights.

Though Hyundai has come a long LONG way, for a second I was almost reminded of how they ripped off Jaguar and Mercedes in the first Sonata that they launched here.

Though I wouldn't comment on who pulled it off better, because, honestly I like the looks of both the cars.

The Hyundai does look striking.

Bling bling aside, Hyundai should really sort the ride quality and anaemic brakes in its cars, especially Verna and Creta.

Speaking from the point of view of the Creta, the ABS may tend to be a little sensitive over loose surfaces, but I have never found them to be scarily lacking or inadequate. They do their job, nothing more and nothing less.

Of course I'm talking from my own perspective and for my driving style I don't have any complaints.

A subjective opinion - Forget the Creta, those tail lights and that rear design have no business existing on any vehicle ever.

Maybe Hyundai should wait on the un-veiling, It's pretty ugly on the outside.

Re: Scoop! Next-gen 2020 Hyundai Creta spotted testing in China

Is hyundai bored of the success of Creta? One of the big reason creta sells is the looks.

Are they trying to make Creta stand out of the crowd by making it “ugly”. ( similar to gorilla marketing)

If future Creta fails Hyundai have only themselves to blame.

Re: Scoop! Next-gen 2020 Hyundai Creta spotted testing in China

If this is what the Creta is going to look like in the years to come, I think that's one more reason for the upcoming Kia Seltos to be a runaway success.

The rear looks extremely weird and the front end looks like a grown up Venue, which is a car with good presence but not as classy looking as the present Creta for me atleast. Also the car somehow looks a bit smaller than the current car, maybe it's because of the similarity to the Venue.

Maybe its a tactic to boost Kia sales, by making the Creta look ugly. Lol

Re: Scoop! Next-gen 2020 Hyundai Creta spotted testing in China

All Hyundai needs to do for Creta for 2020 is to:

Add the Dual Clutch Tranny
Add some tech/borrow from Venue
Some additional alloy/wheel options.
Disc breaks in rear
Six airbags.

That's it.

They don't need to make it ugly and go for a completely different design language. They might fail miserably.

Re: Scoop! Next-gen 2020 Hyundai Creta spotted testing in China

(weeps)

From an absolute looker in 2015 to this confused mixture of strange shapes in 2020, things couldn't have been worse for the Creta.

This model seems to have a Chinese vibe to it; unnecessary plastic parts, panels, lights. Oh wait, what's the skid plate doing atop the grille!?

(seeks respite through Tasteful Mods thread)
