Re: Rumour: Ertiga-based crossover to be unveiled by end-2019

The headlight appears thicker than regular new Ertiga. Also, I hoped they would upgrade the alloys from this busy design, but alas.

Still, this can be a very interesting product. Hope to see all black interiors and rear passenger captain seats in this.

Quite a few changes are visible vis a vis the regular ertiga

Black alloy wheels
Roof rails
Body cladding and flared wheel arches
2nd row seat headrests are taller (captain seats)
Bonnet is flatter?
Nose is boxier(like that of the Honda amaze)
Headlight has sharper, more squared design
Front grill design is different
Fog lamp design is different (circular shaped)

Why are they doing road test for cosmetic changes?
Could there be some more changes like CVT gearbox ?

This looks like Maruti's BR-V! But yes, being a Maruti, it will sell in much better amount than Honda.

I am told this will kind of replace the S-Cross to some extent, which means we might not see the 1.5 petrol S-Cross that has been widely spoken about.

Time will tell!

Re: Rumour: Ertiga-based crossover to be unveiled by end-2019

The fiber wheel arch, 4 doors bottom panels like in Scorpio/Safari, these will give a sporty look along with the spoiler and roof rails to the Ertiga, which otherwise looks bland.

My car is a 2013 Ertiga, I wanted to give it a sporty look, but scared about the aftermarket fitments. Also, I think people buy an Ertiga not because of its looks but because of its utility.

Maruti should not stop just with cosmetic changes, instead offer it with a bigger engine and higher BHP and the 6th Gear. While driving on the highways, my mind would be asking for the 6th gear and my hand would be searching for it, but my heart will be sigh - it was not there when you bought it.

Here is a link from zigwheels and they seem to have zoomed in on the head lights. I am not very impressed !! Hope Maruti is just trying to confuse and won't offer this kind of arrangement

Rumour: Maruti Ertiga Cross launch in August 2019

According to a media report, the Maruti Ertiga Cross is likely to be launched in August 2019.

Rumour: Ertiga-based crossover to be unveiled by end-2019-ertiga-cross.jpg

The Ertiga Cross is expected to be based on the standard Ertiga and might get captain seats for the second row. It might also get a new name to differentiate it from the standard car.

Spy images suggest that the Ertiga Cross could get a larger grille with a horizontal bar in the centre, new front bumper and headlamp clusters. It could also get flared wheel arches, side skirts, roof rails, ORVMs with integrated turn signals and alloy wheels.

Reports suggest that the Ertiga Cross is likely to be offered with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. In the standard Ertiga, this unit puts out 103 BHP and 138 Nm of torque and comes paired with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
