These seem to be the entry level variants since certain items such as sunroof and full LED headlamps appear to be missing.

Hoping that Honda prices the entry level variants sensibly.

Best,
Enigmatic.
These are 16" inch wheels and no lane watch camera . Equipment list is yet to be released but there are two versions.

Thank you for the photos of the vehicles in their various colors.
What was your impression of the vehicles seeing them in real life.
Were they as impressive as the older generation that was sold here.

re: Scoop: Honda Civic spotted testing in India! Edit: Launched @ 17.69 lakhs

The base and mid-variants seem to have:

- Smaller touchscreen HU
- No cameras mounted on side-view mirrors
- No sunroof
- Projector headlamps instead of LEDs
- Possibly 205/65 R16 alloys and tyres (Creta size)
- Some buttons on steering wheel are missing (so possibly no cruise control)
- Has retained electronic parking brake

With these omissions, if Honda can manage to price the entry level variant aggressively, they can pull in decent numbers for the Civic with respect to its segment. There's another thread going on in this forum discussing about lower variant of higher segment vs higher variant of lower segment. In the context, can we have a Civic V overlapping with a City ZX?

re: Scoop: Honda Civic spotted testing in India! Edit: Launched @ 17.69 lakhs

From the pictures shared by BHPian luvtandon and the multiple reviews available on the net it is certain that there are 3 trim levels for Petrol (V, VX and ZX). I think Honda will price the entry level diesel and petrol Civic very competitively. The diesel will probably have V and Zx. Thanks a lot luvtandon

Some of my speculations seems to be correct.

I think the Civic ZX CVT (Petrol) will undercut the top end Corolla Altis (VL CVT Petrol) by a small margin.
But according to the pictures shared it seems Cruise Control and probably Dual Zone Climate Control is present only in VX and ZX

Automatic Petrol and Diesel manual has top-spec ZX. It was shown in the media drives. Whether the diesel has a VX is doubtful. Unlike the CRV, Honda expects 80% bookings for Petrol Civic.
The red car showed in the picture is the base "V" variant. It has 5" display monitor and 16" alloys. Even the base variant has the Electronic Parking brake.

The pictures show that ZX is having 17'' and the lower trims are having 16''

So, Honda will be launching it in a broad price band !
You are right.

For Civic, Honda seems to follow a slightly different configuration with respect to the top end City ZX.

17" Alloys, 6 Airbags, Full LED Headlights (Auto), Sunroof, Automatic Intermittent Wipers with Rainfall Sensor and Lane watch Camera seems to be exclusive for top end Civic ZX.

But for Honda City (according to the Honda website) all grades seems to have Cruise control and Sunroof is present for VX and ZX.

Very good observation. Electronic Handbrake with Auto Hold seems to be present in all variants. It is crucial to the design of the central console.

As per one SA it will be in the range of Corolla Altis and as per another it will range from 18 lakhs to 22 lakhs Ex-SR. Lets just keep our fingers crossed that better sense prevails at Honda and they undercut the Altis by huge margins.

Wishful thinking. The Civic beats the Corolla Altis in almost every parameter, except rear seat comfort. Honda has no reason to undercut the Altis. Ideally, Honda would price it exactly in the range of the Altis, +/- 20k. It should undercut the Octavia though.

re: Scoop: Honda Civic spotted testing in India! Edit: Launched @ 17.69 lakhs

Looking forward for a test drive.

It would have been nice if Honda had offered that 1.5 turbo

I am hunting around for an automatic. Looking for an upgrade from the 1.3 scross. Seems like Civic is everything that S cross is not. I am a not comfortable with low seats. May be a longish test drive can convince me on the sporty low seats.

My budget is around 20L OTR, seems like the V petrol could be close to that. My "guesstimate" is 20L OTR for the V, 23 L OTR for VX and 26L OTR for the ZX.

From the photograph, it seems like the V variant has no leather seats, no steering wheel cover, only a 5 inch av system, no cruise control, single zone ac without climate control. VX adds leather seats, steering wheel cover, 7 inch avn and climate control. ZX would have the lane camera, 17 inch alloys, sunroof, full led headlamps and powered seats. The difference between VX and ZX would be huge. If the VX is in the 20-22L bracket, I would really consider buying one 1.8 CVT in red or white.

The other car in the pictures apart from red V petrol has iDTEC badge at the back. And as the OP says, it was a VX model. So, VX diesel is very much there. I also noticed that V misses out on keyless entry while VX gets that along with chrome door handles.

re: Scoop: Honda Civic spotted testing in India! Edit: Launched @ 17.69 lakhs

The Civic is quite a looker as long as you can digest the multiple cuts/edges in the front and rear. This car will find homes with folks in the 35-45 years age group with young children to carry around town and who drive themselves - and for this reason - I hope the car is well specced in terms of comfort/convenience features at the front. Definitely doesn't fit the bill for someone who wants to be chauffeured around. Those people will go to the Toyota/Hyundai showroom. If they can price the base variant very close to the top end Honda City, they can get some early adopters but it doesn't matter that much. In this segment a few lakhs here and there should be very palatable as long as the car ticks the other boxes in terms of being a good driver's car.

There are lots of Civics in Phuket.
Saw this one at Kata beach yesterday. Looked smoking hot in red. Hopefully, Honda is giving this color in India too.

If you noticed, the media drive cars were all in red/white; so quite certain that the red will be an option in India.
