Re: Quadricycles (Bajaj Qute) can soon be bought for private use

I am looking forward to the actual approval. Imagine if we could use golf cart like electric vehicles for last mile connectivity... Amazing..

Re: Quadricycles (Bajaj Qute) can soon be bought for private use

Auto Rickshaws are very overpriced. Quads are equally overpriced. At best they can replace the 3 wheeler version.

TATA should develop a lower cost Nano .. Just a "Nan" removing components that add weight and cost and price it 50k lower than the Bajaj Quad. Very doable and much safer.

I am being sarcastic. Would hate to see the quad succeed at anything but replacing the 3 seater Rickshaw, in which case too a skimpy Nan (Nano) would be better.

Re: Quadricycles (Bajaj Qute) can soon be bought for private use

There is nothing cute about this contraption and I really hope against hope the union govt. doesn't give approval for this. All I see is a sinister machine for making more mullah for another powerful business house.

The biggest issue I see on our roads is relative speed difference between various vehicles occupying the same piece of tarmac. Most vehicles do not maintain a safe enough speed due to poor mechanical condition, age, load, capability and poor and less engaged drivers. This is a bigger problem than over-speeding!! Reduces the flow of traffic on road and adds stress and impatience to everyone.

And this doodah is going to add to this menace.

What's the status of this?

I thought all had been cleared, but I'm yet to see any formal announcements from Bajaj.

I am keen to see autorickshaws (atleast in Tiers 1 and 2 towns) getting replaced by these small 4 wheelers. Maybe subsidised by the govt to some extent (in the interest of safety). Can't expect Bajaj to subsidize, as it essentially means a major cannibalization of its own rickshaw product.

Nano was denied permission for rick replacement as a taxi is what I understand. Why the double standards. It definitely is a much safer and better vehicle compared to Qute and same price range too.

If this is allowed for personal use , then the mandatory safety equipment of airbags and ABS should be in place as well. That is said to be one of the reasons for discontinuing Nano . Nano is otherwise safer and a more accomplished car. Even without airbags , it may be more safer than some of the other cars out there in real life.
