Re: Honda Brio production stopped; no plans to bring the updated model

This car with Diesel CVT would have been just what our city roads need. Sad to see Honda's lack of momentum in India.

A brio sized car with BS6 diesel engine and CVT transmission would price itself out of the market.

Expect to see much lesser diesel cars on road, especially smaller cars with small engines, once bs6 gets put into effect.

I have a 2014 brio automatic which usually hovers around 10-11.5km/l in Bangalore city traffic..But it also depends on your throttle modulation as this is an automatic. When my dad drives it gives about 12-14km/l easily whereas my mom manages to get about 12km/l max.On the highways though it gives 18-19km/l very easily provided it's cruising between 100-120kmh or below.

Re: Honda Brio production stopped; no plans to bring the updated model

Guys, I still see the Brio listed in Honda Website, Is it still on sale ?
Or , are they selling stocks ?

Planning to buy one CVT for my wife, and it will be used 100% inside bangalore city only.

Was under the impression that, i have to go with Jazz only, as BRIO is discontinued. But confused now, as it is still active in honda website.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This might not answer your question but, the Brio used to come with a TC and not a CVT. If you need a CVT: Jazz, Baleno, i20 and Micra are your options.
On availability, you'll need to check with the dealers for stock, but they have not been dispatching cars from the factory for the past six months. Check here: https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/india...-analysis.html (April 2019 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis)

The brio uses a 5 speed torque converter which was used in the 3rd gen honda city, and the fd2 civic. But it uses different gear ratios for a better low end response.

I heard from a fellow BHPian in Bangalore a few months ago that the dealers there didnt have any stocks left of the Brio. Try calling them and checking on their updated inventory.

Re: Honda Brio production stopped; no plans to bring the updated model

I was checking the Honda website and was surprised to see that Brio is still listed on the website.

Did Honda bring back the Brio? Or, did they forget to remove the model from the website?

Yes, call it laziness or downright indifference! I don't see any information or interest from Honda on reviving their India story, except for their trump card - the City.

Pity that with upgraded looks and a sorted engine-transmission combination, the Brio makes a compelling proposition to take on biggies in the premium mini-hatch segment.
