Looks like a stripped down Lexus ES 300h which may be a good thing for the Camry owner and bad for the Lexus owner who'd be paying a 100% premium over the Camry Hybrid.

Launching Soon -New Camry HYBRID appears in its line-up.

This is slightly OT but as corporate policy I do not understand this. Either test drive at a concealed test track. If you are going drive the car on a public road using whatever camouflage you deem fit, people ARE GOING TO SEE THE CAR! If you want to keep it secret - do not take it out in public. HOw much simpler can it get.

I cannot imagine any reason to try and prevent clicks using these dangerous driving tactics that are presumably sanctioned by a multinational corporate.

PS: What makes it even more foolish is that the look of the car is one google search away. Its not a concealed international launch either. The car is on the roads internationally.

Surprised to see only the Hybrid variant for IN. Why not the petrol version given the NGT bans and tightening regulations?

Is it because of terrible mileage concerns?

Probably first car to come without a bumper? I see grille everywhere but looks like Toyota missed to place a front bumper. The interiors on the other hand looks rich!

Agree :D. Maybe front bumper will be a popular OEM accessory. Interior looks refined and classy.

Hybrid Electric Vehicle

Looks Toyota has added Electric from this generation, wasn't there previously if I recollect. They definitely need "Electric" as a differentiator after all the fake hybrids from Maruti & others :)

Wow, those interiors look TOP quality. Features like Qi charging, touchscreen controls in the rear arm rest, two large front screens etc are all features from a much higher segment.

Only thing I wish they introduced was a panoramic roof.

While it does seem in a segment higher than the Superb now more than the previous gen, I hope they don't get too overconfident and price closer to the 5/E than the Superb. With a little bit of price correction towards the Superb side of pricing can make this car off showroom floors rapidly. But knowing Toyota India, that is wishful thinking.

I wish they had given the brown interior combination that was there on the pre camry model and a blue colour instead of 2 blacks.

It is expected to cost 45 lacs on road mumbai.

Does it have attention assist ? 9 airbags ?

Am I the only one a bit taken aback by the front end look!

No sir but then toyota is following lexus and they both have garish front ends which look like they could look better in an industrial zone on an industrial product. it looks like metal teeth. i really like the interior though.

At close to 40L ex showroom(assuming) , is it value for money considering alternates available? This is a pretty steep price.

What's Toyota's plan? Are they seeking any numbers at all or just a 'make your presence felt' car!
