re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

Received this on WhatsApp. It's a copy from Twitter (Tags are clues)

Reason behind Hyundai naming it's New Compact SUV as Venue could well be this below one.

Quote:
Most likely to create another aVenue for @HyundaiIndia to earn some ReVenue in this crowded space which has been Brezza’s ‘Venue’ all these days! 😀
Post Launch this could well be the happening thing.

Let's wait and watch on April 17th. This car will click for its design and features. That's it, people will not look at anything else in this car. Many felt the XUV3OO to be good, but it's price put off many prospective customers. But that same thing won't happen with this Hyundai Venue. Even if Hyundai overprices it, it'll still do well. Other's will be affected severely I guess.

Also read that Hyundai has stopped production of base (E/E+) variants of Creta. This could well be the reason for it.

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

Regarding the name, I think “Venue” sounds quite interesting since it is rather different from others indicating the specific place such as Kona or Santa Fe. And it’s even much easier to pronounce than Altroz, Santa Fe, or Marazzo, etc. As far as I know, the name of this Kona’s successor symbolizes to the third space where the Hyundai’s newest connected SUV can enjoy the “trendy, unique, stylish and perfect” vibe.

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

These lights keep me wondering.
If these are LED DRLs, then what are those slit like ones on top?
If these are LED Headlamps, why are they peripherally illuminated? Low beam?

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

Hyundai is quite aggressive in testing this model. Now I have seen this car in all kind of roads and in all kind of traffic getting tested in Faridabad (early morning, peaks, late night, all the time I mean ). Looks like at least on the drivability front on Indian roads, this car will score. Honda should learn a thing or two from Hyundai.

I have the same question. Is it possible that the slit houses the turn indicators and high beam while the ones below are peripheral DRLs with low beam in the middle?

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

If that is the case then somehow I feel they've missed the trick. May be its the monetary factors in play?
DRL + Dynamic indicator composite LEDs (read Audi) should've been made the eyebrows and projectors the eyes.

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

Hyundai Venue to come with 30 all-new features for it's segment, including using the owner's smartphone as a remote interface for the car, as per an exclusive by Express Drives.

Quote:
One feature that we can confirm for the Hyundai Venue is the ability to use your smartphone as a remote interface for the car. The Hyundai Venue will allow you to carry out a variety of functions using the smartphone even when you're not in or next to the car.

Mentioned below are the things you can do from the comfort of your home and the convenience of your mobile, leading to an entirely new and improved cabin experience. What makes things special is the fact that right now this feature is only available in the BMW 7 Series and BMW 5 Series through the touchscreen key fob.

Start/ switch off the engine
Switch on AC
Find the location of your car
Lock/ Unlock doors
Alert for tampering by anyone
Remote immobilisation
Panic Button

The remote immobilisation feature will allow you to make sure that in case the car has been stolen the engine will shut down whenever and wherever the thief makes a stop. One can then also track the vehicle.
The panic button is something that will be on the key fob and on pressing the car will automatically call four predefined numbers to alert them of an emergency situation along with location.
Another notable feature is the alert services that will allow one to set speed limits, time limits, valet alert and area limits. Whenever any of these limits are breached the car owner will get an alert on the phone immediately. This will come in handy for parents who do not want their kids to go beyond a certain speed and in case their child exceeds the limit the parents will get an alert an can take corrective action.
Another India first feature that will come in the upcoming Hyundai Venue is the push maps through call center. As the name suggests, this feature allows the driver to contact the Hyundai call center and ask for a specific location. The location will then be pushed in the vehicle by the call center.

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

The USP for this SUV will be the DCT. Outside India, The major complaint about Hyundai's DCT was from the people who has not driven manual ever. We Indians may like it more as 99% of us have driven manual Transmission.

After the CRDi Engine, DCT will be the next big move that Hyundai does in India.

Hyundai to launch Venue as India’s first “Smart SUV’ with Blue Link technology.

Next Gen i20 and Creta will follow post the launch of Venue.

Hyundai is targeting sales of 7,000-8,000 Venues every month to corner a third of the segment market share in the first year of the launch.
