It's unofficial of course. Booking amount is 11000. The decision to accept rests purely with the dealer. They expect the launch this month.

Thanks Latheesh. Thats pretty big which I am not happy with. I was under the impression micro suv= santro/s-presso size. Do you have any idea on the positioning?. I dont know the segment this falls under. Will it be around the pricing of nios i10 or much higher?

Kiger and Magnite ex-showroom price starts around 5.6L. I expect the base variant starts around the same price range or slightly under 5.5L.

My sources are telling me to expect the starting price around Rs. 4.95-4.99L. I'm also told the top variant would not cross Rs. 7.5L. [Both (unofficial) prices ex showroom.]

Can't vouch for those prices but they do look logical considering how competitors are priced and where the base variant of Nexon sits. Slight overlap between Punch and Nexon is inevitable I think. You can compare these with nios.

Thanks

re: The Tata Punch (aka Hornbill) Compact SUV

Here is the new teaser of the TATA Punch advertising its safety promise. With the crash test dummies in the background, it looks like we will getting the NCAP score before the launch itself as we have seen in the case of Altroz and Tigor EV.

re: The Tata Punch (aka Hornbill) Compact SUV

My brother is set to get married in a few days. In a few months, we will know if he would need a car of his own. If such a situation arises, we have decided to buy the Tata Punch turbo petrol manual. I hope the boot isn't as small as the tiago's. I also wish it has 60:40 split(which is a big miss in our Altroz).

What's the source of this info ?

Width at 1822mm is even wider than Brezza's 1790mm . Is it including ORVMs ?

Height is almost same.

That is the dimension of HBX concept which was very close to the production version. There may be few mm difference here and there, but overall dimensions going to be more or less the same.

re: The Tata Punch (aka Hornbill) Compact SUV

So the latest teaser by Tata Motors confirms that Punch will be having terrain modes.

I just hope that this feature is given in top model only so that the pricing can be kept under control for lower trims.

Just one question, was this feature really necessary with 1.2 ltr mediocre engine and a budget car.

The image has mention of 'Pack A' which suggests these modes will be offered via optional packs. Good thing IMO. You can pay extra if you want. If it's added to the top variant it increases ex-showrooom price which leads to more road tax and insurance.

Sir, this engine is medicore only in eyes of petrolheads. For common people the engine does its duty as expected.
IMO these features are a really good option for people who want to be a little adventurous with their budget car.
Why should only rich people or their expensive cars have all the fun?

All I'm saying is, there is a huge market for all types of (cars and their) features in this price range. Manufacturers are trying to capture the market. And for all we know, it might end up being a marketing gimmick.

And if people bought cars with only necessary features base variant would be the highest selling variant in all types of cars.

Cheers

I guess you have misread it. Its actually not "Pack A", instead it is "I PACK A PUNCH". No?

P.S- I agree with rest of your views.

It is indeed. My bad.

We are looking at an unnecessarily expensive top variant then. Or a marketing gimmick.

Cheers

TML trying hard to differentiate itself from a plethora of raised hatchbacks in the market. The technology can be easily accessed from sister entities in the group.

I mentioned this earlier, I believe the launch will coincide with the second stage of the IPL.
