Does this make Micra petrol the ONLY car in the budget segment to have no manual transmission option / all CVT lineup?

What? You mean there is no manual gearbox available in petrol variants?! If this is true then Micra will be the only car, not only in its segment but in the whole country to have a CVT only option. (other than premium cars)

Doesn't ABS come standard in the car?

Where are the Ola variants? I mean who is Nissan kidding? The only people buying the Micra these days are the Ola Cabbies for that Diesel engine!
Not a bad car, but let down by Nissan! I think the car is some 8-9 years old now in India with just a facelift in between. I think VW does a better job at doing refreshes to the same product over and over again! At least they have ample engine gear box options!

Re: 2018 Nissan Micra launched with new features

I looked at the brochure, and the XV petrol CVT is quite loaded with features - it actually has everything I am looking for in my next car.
Only thing that's holding me back from proceeding is the brand Nissan - because it's quite possible that the brand might go the GM way and be retired.

As an owner of a Nissan (Sunny), I can tell you one thing = AVOID.

Even if the company sticks around (the big parent group surely will), they are simply awful in customer support. You'll find yourself running from pillar to post. Part availability is poor, the company doesn't care how its dealers treat you and nearly all Nissan dealers I've interacted with are rascals. I think Nissan has an idiot test while screening its dealers, and whoever is the biggest idiot wins.

God help you if something as complicated as your CVT box should develop a problem. You're on your own then.

Is Nissan even serious about this? Here is the Mircra in Europe. Look at the design. I have seen it on the roads and it does look futuristic.

Re: 2018 Nissan Micra launched with new features

I own a Micra CVT from last version and I have not regretted it once. True, the Nissan service is a bit of hit or miss but the misses have been far and few to be fair.

I find it to be supremely good in city and pretty decent on highway. The CVT is a boon with its smooth transmission, it is right sized and has all the safety/creature comforts I needed. It must be mentioned that when I was hunting for a car then at that time, there were no cars which delivered at the same level a Micra while today's market is significantly different. However, it still looks good on paper in terms of what it offers as a car.

A price difference of 1.93L between the Petrol and Diesel variant?! That's 32% over the price of the Petrol variant.

Sometimes I really wonder if I belong to another planet or the people who come up with such pricing do!

I don't think the active variants are as equipped as the regular Micra. They have different styling and lesser feature set. The diesel is not available in Active avatar.

I, like GTO own a Nissan Sunny.

Dear Nissan India,

1. Either update your product portfolio.

2. Shut shop and leave.

Stop spoiling the name of Nissan in India by selling us decade old products
