Is Tata Motors working on a Nexon JTP version?

Is Tata Motors testing Nexon with JTP treatment?

The recent photos shows Tata Nexon being tested in its XT trim - steel wheels, no touch screen music system and no shark fin antenna.

According to the post it was a manual transmission unit and being tested by the team of Jayem Auto engineers - as per their uniforms.
Could Tata really be interested in giving Nexon a JTP treatment?

Where are the Tiago and Tigor JTP versions? After the Auto Expo, there has been no real word of their launch or production, and everything seems to have died down with respect to these two models. The Tiago especially could have done with a shot in the arm from the JTP guys- would have made for a fun little hatch back!

The twins are being tested and are regularly spotted doing the rounds in and around Coimbatore. The launch is expected to be around the end of this year. Please refer to the following thread for more updates.

Rumour: Tata Nexon JTP on cards

According to a media report, Tata is planning a JTP version of the Nexon. However, it may not be launched until 2020.

Is Tata Motors working on a Nexon JTP version?-2017tatanexon06.jpg

The Tiago JTP is rumoured to be launched around Diwali this year and will be followed by the Tigor JTP. Much like the Tiago and the Tigor, the Nexon JTP could receive a sporty body kit along with other bits like projector headlamps, new design alloy wheels and sporty interiors with leather upholstery and aluminium pedals.

There is no word yet on the engine that will power the Nexon JTP. However, reports suggest that it might get a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine revised to meet BS-VI emission regulations. Besides this, the car could get minor suspension and gearbox tweaks as well.

The Ford EcoSport S will be the Nexon JTP's main rival. It is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit that puts out 123 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 170 Nm of peak torque @ 1,500-4,500 rpm and is paired to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Mid 2020 the Nexon should be 3 years old. Considering car lifecycles, shouldn't we also expect a facelift by then?

Given the fate of past performance variants of Tata cars, I'll give no credence to this until I see one on-road with license plates.

This is not the JTP version of Tata Nexon, its just a modded version.

According to my sources, Tata will be judging the response for the JTP versions of Tiago and Tigor, and then after that decide on other similar JTP versions.

Re: Is Tata Motors working on a Nexon JTP version?

How much power is Tata planning to generate from that 3 Cylinder motor! It already produces a healthy 110 HP.

Tata should introduce a JTP variant in the Nexon updating that 1.5L Diesel mill.

Re: Is Tata Motors working on a Nexon JTP version?

For the past fews years I am reading that Tata is going to launch performance variant of different cars but not even one launch yet.
Let Tata bring at least one performance variant to market first.

Re: Is Tata Motors working on a Nexon JTP version?

With fuel prices sky high, performance vehicles will take a back seat. Nexon JTP should be fun! Yellow with that gloss black looks great! Cant be a dealer mod as its a complete Paint job from scratch! It should reflect in the RC book.

Unlike previous instances, the first sports version is launching in 2 months time, confirmed by Mayank Pareek.
