Looking at the relative size of the silhouette and launch timelines indicated at the event, I think this is the Enyaq iV and not the Kyroq or whatever they call it.

Skoda has approved the next phase of investment in India, which will go into combustion-engine and electric vehicles.



- Skoda targets 1 lakh annual sales by 2026 with new compact SUV (including exports)
- The new investment will not only lead to a 30 percent expansion of production capacity, but also expand the addressable market for the brand to almost 50-60 percent of the fast-growing passenger vehicle market in the country.
-New investment to go towards compact SUV and EVs
- Skoda India targets 5 percent of market share by 2030
-50 percent of Skodas made outside of Czech Republic come from India.

Skoda India to make broader premium push with Superb and Octavia, diesel may return.

- Skoda Superb could be offered in a diesel variant, but likely to be in CBU while the petrol variant will be in CKD. Launch by mid 2025.

- Return of diesel in Kodiaq too is under study.

- New Octavia in Hybrid variant is also on cards. This could be a plug-in hybrid with a 150PS 1.5-litre engine paired with a 25.7 kWh battery pack.

- Skoda Octavia RS variant as CBU while the standard Octavia could be a CKD.

Why can't Skoda-VW plan a bigger push. They can shift manufacturing of the right hand drive cars to India and make it an RHD exclusive export hub. By this way they can bring down the cost of production and get spares locally and low prices.

- Czech brand Skoda Auto is now open to finding a local partner to leverage its market proximity and expertise in procurement and sourcing.

- Both standalone operations and a local partnership are open options.

- A 'true partnership' combined with Skoda's engineering can be a winning combination in the Indian market.

Volkswagen is now driving the India operations of the group.

- Technical collaboration for Indian market is on and Mahindra is one of the prospective collaborators

- The group will bring EV's like EPIQ, ELROQ and low-cost EV in works by Skoda, VW will likely bring the EV being developed for China, to India.

- ICE development in progress likely will get the next generation of Kushaq/Taigun and Slavia and Virtus.

- Seven-seater versions of the above mid-SUV's are possible

- VW will not get the Skoda's 4m SUV but is fighting for the same as a car in Brazil is in development.

The next generation Slavia and Virtus could be based on the MQB A0 37 platform which will result in more width and similar or better crash test ratings. The immediate update to Slavia and Virtus will be based on the MQB A0 27 as per the video and the below link. Possibility of Hybrid power trains based on this platform as well.

Vishal Bhat to head sales at Skoda Auto India.



The Czech car brand is readying itself for the launch of its most affordable SUV in the world, and Bhat's appointment will help in preparing its channel partner to augment the same.

Vishal Bhat, the former head of aftersales business and service at Volkswagen India and Skoda India, has taken charge of sales for the Skoda brand.

- Bhat, who has been with the Group for almost one and a half decades, will oversee the critical sales function ahead of Skoda’s much-awaited sub-4-meter SUV launch in early 2025.

-Skoda has been without a head of sales and marketing since April 2024.

-A VW Group veteran, Bhat will seek to accelerate the Skoda brand's volume to the next level.
