The attached Specs Sheet clearly mentions a 5 Speed Easy-R AMT. I also hope that they make the modular seats as standard, but I am sure that to keep the prices in check, they will be limited to the top spec variants only. Engine would be BS4 for now,but compliant with the BS6 when they come in to place.

Did anyone else notice a lack of Steering Mounted Controls in a car which is otherwise so feature rich? Or does it have Duster and Lodgy like controls below the steering near the stalk for the lights etc.?

I am in love with this car already, hope they price it sensibly and launch it soon. Loved to see the Roof Mounted and B-Pillar Mounted Rear AC Vents in a sub-4m car. No height adjustable front seat belts or power folding for ORVMs can be seen in the images. Likewise, could not see the Front Seat Height Adjustment Lever.

It has Kwid's characteristics also, like the Turn Indicators on the front wheel arch and that plastic sticker on the sides.

For comparison, 1L engine from Kwid:

Torque: 91 Nm @4250 Rpm

New engine has early generation of torque and late generation of power. Also, being a BSVI engine, the new one might be costlier.

I hope the last seats are optional. People with large boot capacity won't require the two seats.

With nice interior and exterior European themed design, it draws attention. In MPV avatar, it offers oodles of space too, but..

I don't want to sound pessimistic, but in my opinion, that 1 liter engine would be a roadblock for success. Isn't it too much to expect from one litre NA mill?

Kwid has been consistently moving more than 5000 units and if Triber is able to move half that number, it will be a success. But with this little engine, despite the appealing looks, how masses will take to the car remains to be seen.

All's good except the engine! That puny 3 cyl NA 1.0L unit has it's work cut out! Automakers have taken volumetric engine downsizing to totally another level with this. The third row is best removed and kept at home or probably offered to your enemy who better know to sit on the floor crosslegged!

re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

Could anyone see the Side Airbag tag in the showcased cars, which was noted in the test mule earlier? I hope that was not just for the export markets, and the lives of Indian people are equally important for the Renault Group. This car will definitely create a lot of ripples in the market and make other manufactures give such practical features in their offerings as well in the near future.

Quote:
The Renault Triber is 3,990 mm long, 1,739 mm wide and 1,643 mm tall. It has a 2,636 mm wheelbase. Its boot volume is 84 litres (7-seater condition)/320 litres (6 seater condition)/625 litres (5 seater condition). The sub-4 metre MPV offers sliding, reclinable, foldable and tumble second-row seats. The third-row seats are removable. In all, there are more than 100 different seat-configurations possible. The roof rails have a load carrying capacity of 50 kg. The ground clearance is 182 mm.

The Renault Triber is underpinned by the CMF-A platform. It employs a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 72 PS at 6,250 rpm and 96 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual are the transmission choices.

In addition to projector headlamps, LED DRLs, 15-inch alloy wheels and removable third-row seats, the Renault Triber features 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four airbags, passive keyless entry, 3.5-inch MID and rear parking camera.

Poor Renault. They finally think they’ve figured out a path in this market, and Maruti announces this:

If you saw the photo with all the seats up, the tried row headrests almost touch the Rear Hatch. So, there is no place to place/keep a Cargo Shelf. If it were a strictly 5 seater with that big a boot space, I am sure they would have provided one.

Like the Lodgy, all rows get AC Vents, the 2nd row gets on the B-Pillars, while the 3rd row people get roof mounted vents to throw the cold air behind. I could not notice a separate switch for the Rear AC Vents, so probably it's connected to the front AC to save costs.

Hello all!

This is my first post on team-BHP.

I just called up the north Delhi Renault showroom to enquire about the new Triber. The salesman claimed that they have already received 175 bookings for this car. The booking amount is 11 thousand rupees. Also attaching some marketing stuff I received from them :

Renault TRIBER Space for everything

LIFE MODE
SURF MODE
The Renault TRIBER has been thoughtfully designed to accommodate comfort and convenience. It comes with the most spacious passenger cabin available in a sub-4m car. The space is smartly
optimised with 100+ seating configurations, a boot space of 625 l and interior storage of up to 31 l. The TRIBER comes with first-in-industry EasyFix Seats for the 3rd row. The main seat
combinations feature four exciting modes - the 5-seater Life Mode, the 7-seater Tribe Mode, the 4-seater Surf Mode and the 2-seater Camp Mode.
SUPER SPACIOUS AND ULTRA MODULAR
TRIBE MODE
CAMP MODE

MODERN AND WELL-EQUIPPED INTERIORS Apple CarPlay
Experience all-new modern interiors inside the Renault TRIBER. The Deep Black and Greige interiors with harmonious trims exude warmth while the new Centre Fascia with sleek chrome edges spells sophistication. The super spacious TRIBER features
a stylish Dual Tone Dashboard with silver accents, an LED Instrument Cluster and Twin AC. Its easy-to-use Touchscreen System ULC 4.0 comes integrated with Android AutoTM, Apple CarPlay, Push-to-Talk and Video Playback on your screen. The smart
technology continues in the Smart Access Card with keyless entry and the Push Start/Stop Bu on, to further enhance your driving experience.

ROBUST AND ATTRACTIVE EXTERIORS
The Renault TRIBER is sure to make heads turn with its striking Projector Headlamps, stylish Roof Rails and LED DRLs.
The ultra-modern Triple Edge Chrome Front Grille further adds to its presence. A Ground Clearance of 182 mm and SUV Skid
Plates lend an impressive stance while o ering protection on rough roads.

Sorry mods for the back to back post.
Kindly merge them.
Here's a preview brochure I received from them:

The car definitely looks good, and can work very well as a family hatch with rear ac vents and loads of boot space. The concern as being highlighted here is the weak engine which could be a problem in a otherwise comprehensive package.Waiting for the test drive report eagerly.

The rotary switch is located on top of the handbrake console, the rear seat passengers get only a blower.

re: Renault Triber, the Kwid-based MPV. EDIT : Launched at Rs. 4.95 lakhs

This basically does not have any competition in sub 4m bracket. TUV has side facing seats and no petrol, so cannot compare with it.

This should be priced between Eeco and Ertiga.
If this is priced around 7-8 lakh range, its bound to excite people looking to buy Sub4m sedan, hatch and SUV.

The only downside being no diesel variant ( Could be due to cost factors of BS 6 ).
