Ventilated seats for just the driver? What about the front passenger?
Considering this vehicle be mostly chauffeur driven, is this really worthwhile?

Not sure why people are talking about the Vellfire here ? IIRC it will cost north of 70 Lakhs , i.e more than 200 % of Carnival's price. It is in no way a competitor to Carnival.

Vellfire can only compete with Mercedes Benz - V Class currently

Coming to Carnival, Kia knows a thing or two about India's requirements now ( thanks to Hyundai and Seltos's success ). I am sure they will package it properly in terms of pricing

I had seen the Vellfire at Toyota last week, supposed to be around 85Lakhs on-road. But man, the seats are a different level altogether! Test drives were not being given at that time, so ride quality is still suspect, hopefully plusher than the Innova

KIA Carnival is a VAN at the end of the day. I don't think the Carnival will be as abuse friendly as Toyota Innova. I assume that Carnival is a monocoque and we all know that Innova is a ladder on frame MUV.

Finally Booked Kia Carnival today, with expected delivery by end of Feb20.
Looks like a worthy replacement of my 10 year old Toyota Innova which i bought after suggestion from @GTO and senior bhpians.

Would closely follow all updates in this thread.

Thats a misconception I would say. Most cross overs and SUVs are today being built as monocoques and do withstand the abuse quite well. Secondly, the Innova is being used as a Taxi and hence the need for it to be probably more rugged. Whereas the Carnival is targeted at a slightly elite audience who are mostly going to be chauffeur driven.

Congrats. Which version did you book? Any indicative pricing?

Thanks, I booked Limousine Variant, around 30lakh ex showroom.

Just received the message from the nearby Kia dealer about the launch...clap:

Greetings from Epitome KIA

Count down has begun for the SHEER EXTRAVAGANCE & most anticipated car of 2020 KIA CARNIVAL.

Launching on 21 Jan 2020

The luxury & recreational vehicle with class defining exterior and luxurious Interior with Power packed performance, making every drive a memorable one.

Wow the launch is way earlier than anticipated. I was expecting Auto Expo launch. Auto expo should be a good showcase for the Carnival. The dual sunroofs are drool worthy. This will be the biggest differentiator from the Innova.

All said and done Innova is still pretty barebones for a 30 lakh car. This gives the feeling that it will indulge the owner as well the driver.

For the people having doubts about the size. Where an E class goes this can pretty much go. Only issue will be having parking spaces to suit the 5m length.

Why the biege black combo. Somehow the dual tone makes it look garish. Any option for all Black leather?

The seat color combination in the limousine variant looks ordinary in the photos. A solid color would have looked better. Any idea if more exterior colors will be launched in the future apart from the standard 3 colors?

It looks like a great alternative to modified Innova done by DC Design among others. Some DC Design high-end mods cost more than 40lac let alone 30lac. Thus there is a market for such a car and its brilliant for KIA to see that.

The beige-black colour combination surprisingly doesn't look upmarket on the Carnival. The beige shade seems to be the same as in Verna and doesn't work for me. The leather and stitching quality doesn't seem to be all that great. The centre console looks typical Hyundai.
