Nissan has launched a new edition of their Terrano SUV priced at 12.22 lakhs (ex- showroom, Delhi).

Named the Terrano Sports edition, only styling updates are part of the package. On the outside, the Terrano Sport Edition gets LED daytime running lamps near the headlamps, red and black decals, a contrasting black roof and pillars, and new cladding on the wheel arches. The cabin now features a dual-tone finish, all around – brown and black for the dashboard and black and red on the seat covers and floor mats. Navigation is available as standard on this edition.

In terms of pricing, the Sport Edition costs the same as the current range-topping 85hp diesel version, the Terrano XL (O), which is also priced at Rs 12.22 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Sports edition will only be offered with the 85 hp diesel engine.

A pointless edition to infuse some life into the Terrano; won't change a thing.

Also,

The Nissan Terrano Sport Edition will be made in limited numbers and it will be available only on the 1.5-litre diesel which makes 83.8 bhp.

The DRL's look like a close cousin of the one's used on the top models of Datsun Redi-Go. Are they the same with only the orientation changed ? ;-)

Who connects sportiness with engine power? Aren't there big red stripes on the hood ? The bigger the stripes the sportier the car.

This is brilliant! The range topping 85bhp engine’s full potential is unleashed via the red stripes on the hood. And the decals on the sides help in a sporty exhaust note. The crimson-stitched interiors further enhance the sportiness! They are really making a joke of the brand.

Unless they come up with some real new models, I foresee extremely tough going for the Renault-Nissan-Datsun trio.

I don’t know what Nissan India is smoking when they have competent international products like the Kicks,Qashqai or even the new gen Micra. With this kind of lackadaisical attitude they deserve to be relegated to the bottom of the charts !

These variants are called 'stock clearance' editions in industry parlance.

What this means is that the Sport Edition will go without discounts, or lesser discounts. The regular one has well over a lakh in discounts making it significantly cheaper. Still, a good looking SUV until you sit inside .

The Sports edition will only be offered with the 85 hp diesel engine.

. I'd much rather buy a Duster AWD top-end for the same money.

Except that the India-spec Kicks will be built on an updated version of Renault's M0 platform, which underpins the Captur. But it will be called Kicks and will look like Kicks.

Someone need to kick some sense into these two brands. Globally well respected, but just too half hearted in their approach to the Indian market.

I heard Kicks had been delayed for some reasons best known to Nissan but now that you’ve mentioned about it going the Captur route I really don’t have much to say other than things going really south and perhaps a possible exit in the future ?

So 14L on road for 85PS and sticker job wow!!!! what an awesome package.

One can get a better sticker job done outside than this, is it too much to ask for an 100 or 110PS as a decent upgrade to justify the so called sports edition.

All manufactures have taken the consumers for granted that we will buy anything they launch.

Thank god they did not release a Avenger Thor or Groot edition Terrano.
