As per what I heard, the new 1.5L Petrol engine will get the Baleno's CVT. Though it won't be available instantly on launch, the company will introduce it after a couple of months.

The chrome surrounding the fog lamp area looks like a straight lift from Toyota Etios.

re: The Maruti Ciaz Facelift. EDIT: Now launched at ₹ 8.19 lakhs

The car reminds me of the facelift Corolla Altis(already Maruti ) and the lower half of the front fascia reminds me of the Dzire. The white Ciaz though has a very Octavia-ish look from the front. It might be due to the fact that the front chrome gels well with the colour and does not stand out unlike the blue shade. The extended protector sticker on the bonnet is making the headlight look much sharper like the Jettas and the Octavias of the past. Or maybe the white Ciaz is a lower variant which misses out on those chrome inserts/DRLs in the headlights. In fact it is indeed a lower variant as it gets body coloured door handles as opposed to chrome for the blue car.

Overall, Maruti has managed to make the front end look much sharper, though I will reserve my final judgement until better pics emerge.

Front end along with the bulge in that bonnet does resemble erstwhile Tata indica(go)

Also these pics look stretched wider thus making it appear like a D segment sedan(suzuki Corolla)

Overall again Maruti is playing it safe with the facelift

The bulge on the darker ciaz seems more prominent than the white one. Are the two cars the same?

You read my mind there. With that shot it looks weird; they literally did the opposite of "facelift".

Echoing similar thoughts from the posts above, not a fan of the new grill at all . Really hope the old grill can be retro fitted on this model. Heck, I'm evening considering just buying the existing model and cash in on some discounts (but the new engine and maybe newer features is a big draw).

Is it me or does the facelift look worse than the predecessor - the front grill seems too plain jane.

It's not you, it's the grill. . Like I said in an earlier post, now contemplating just buying the existing model (with discounts on account of the facelift) or retrofitting the old grill.

Once you sit inside the car you will not be able to see the grill. While you may get discounts but with the new car you will miss out on the new semi-hybrid engine and features like cruise control etc. I would suggest to wait it out.

re: The Maruti Ciaz Facelift. EDIT: Now launched at ₹ 8.19 lakhs

Gaadiwaadi has come up with clear spy pics of the Ciaz facelift. I like the sleeker grille and the updated headlamps. The car really looks pretty different now. Sadly, the design and styling still feels at least half-a-decade old.

re: The Maruti Ciaz Facelift. EDIT: Now launched at ₹ 8.19 lakhs

General public would fail to recognize it as a facelift. As speculated from the spy pics, MSIL should have used a BMW/Audi style grill, ride on the same success mantra of the new S-cross.
