As someone who's a big fan of the peace-of-the-mind offered by manufacturer warranties, I'm happy to see the coverage growing longer & longer with time. In the early days of Team-BHP, there were still manufacturers giving just 1 year warranties . A warranty shows the manufacturer's confidence in its product and also brings a fuss-free ownership experience.

They need to update that since 3-years is now standard. Plus, Hyundai should increase their extended warranty options to 6 & 7 years (as Honda, Toyota & BMW do).

IMO it is difficult (not impossible)
Rate of first time buyers with MS & Hyundai is multiple folds away from Honda & Toyota (I'm not touching BMW here, that's a different segment) With their limited know-how on usage / driving / maintenance it is quite difficult to assure on the long term warranty. Also the fact is, most of these cars were built to cost.

Re: 3 year warranty, road side assistance on all Hyundai models

Hyundai is doing everything to stay at the top the game. But of late I feel their newest offerings have started to look boring to say the least. The wow factor has long gone and regarding features most manufacturers have caught up or even have gone ahead. With Tata going forward with it's new design philosophy and Toyota planning to become more active , the future is going to be very tough. Warranties can only take you that far. They have few products in international portfolio which should work in India.

Re: 3 year warranty, road side assistance on all Hyundai models

What is meant by slab 1 and slab 2 in pricing?
Also for 4th year extended warranty for creta is 11860 for slab 2
and 4&5th year extended warranty for creta is 17370 for slab 2. Is this mean that for 4th & 5th year collective price is 17370 or is it 11860 + 17370 for 4th and 5th year respectively?

Please read this page in a peaceful frame of mind

A.
Slab 1: If opted within 90 days from vehicle sale date
Slab 2: If opted after 90 days or before expiry of vehicle Basic Warranty

B.

4th year is xxx (in your case 11860)
4th & 5th year is xxxx (in your case 17370)

They are NOT cumulative. So extended warranty of 2 years beyond 3 years, i.e. 4th + 5th year should be a total of 17370 only! Mind you, I am a logical person, Hyundai warranty folks may not be! So please corroborate with them directly and post back here.

Thanks for the update!
Is power train warranty is separate or is a part of extended warranty? Any idea?
