True, but it should be a minimum code of conduct not to name (reuse) the already existing models which are running in other markets.

The url TataHarrier.com takes me to harrier.tatamotors.com. Domain was registered on June 27, way earlier than the July 7 scoop of AutoCar India.

A profile of Tata Harrier has already been made on Twitter (it only has one follower, as of now, me ) and Facebook, which is hidden, as of now.

There is nothing on these links, as of today.

Harrier sounds good to me, and people have high hopes from this vehicle, i have a feeling that it will be a good one. Then again, whats in the name, if a car named Dzire can sell which IMHO has nothing desirable in it, Harrier does sound good.

All the best Tata, whatever you name it, you have done well with the Tiago and Nexon, lets wish that the success story continues.

There is already an SUV with the name Harrier. It's made by Toyota and if I recall correctly, it's also sold as the Lexus RX. So I doubt Tata is going to copy the name from a key competitor

There is indeed an SUV from Toyota by the name of Harrier, however, Toyota has not registered the name here in India, hence it can be used by Tata motors. I , for one, am looking forward to the launch of these twins before deciding which way to go while upgrading/switching from the Aria.

However the test mules look regular to me. Windows, Head lamps etc are generous as compared to the concept here. I would expect the design to be similar to that of Nexon.

Engine is still a suspense and if it is indeed the 2.0 from Jeep compass, then Creta will have a serious competition.

Tata unveils its next SUV name and some teasers.

Interestingly, Harrier will be the name of the five-seat version of the SUV. A seven-seat version that will come later will get a different name. The Harrier will be launched in January 2019 with a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre diesel engine.
If you're thinking you've heard the Harrier name before, it's because Toyota retails a mid-size SUV with the same name in global markets. However, the identical name will hardly be an issue in India, since the Toyota Harrier is not sold here.
In the build-up to the Harrier's launch, Tata Motors is working on beefing up its sales network as well. It's also understood that customers will be in for a richer experience as the company is set to give its dealerships a premium makeover, with the possibility of an area specially designed to showcase the Harrier and other future premium models.
The Harrier made its debut as the stunning Concept H5X at the Auto Expo earlier this year. Sketches of the production version suggest the car will stay largely true to the concept's and that the model will retain the high-set LED headlights. Other stylistic elements include a new, more defined interpretation of Tata’s trademark ‘humanity line’ that connects the headlights and grille.
