TN 37 - Is Coimbatore registration . Tata had lot of their cars tested under same No. Plate and Jayem Auto , Coimbatore was in charge of their R&D . I am assuming the same company has been hired by Kia Motors.

A GTX+ DCT with 20 Lakh on Road would be great. But I have a follow up question. Jeep Compass Limited Plus I assume was around 25-26 Lakh on Road. If Jeep gives a couple of lakhs discount, is it worth considering Jeep Compass Limited Plus at 23-24 on Road?

I thing I hate about the Jeep Compass is the White interiors. No Black option.

This 17" alloy is available in the top two variants of all engine options and not just GT line. The lower variants get the other 16" alloy.

So I have been watching the White Seltos video on YouTube. Have to say, the Seltos is a looker in white shade. But, what I just noticed is the rear lights. In the black car, the led pattern is clearly visible. In the white though, it doesn't look like that hearbeat pattern is present. The same taillights were present in the car that was unveiled in Mexico(pics I've posted two pages back).





Is it because of the angle at which we see the taillight or it's a different taillight altogether ?

Simply the white car is like hyundai's SX model and the black car is like SX(O) model. Just giving an example. So yes, the white car is below the top trim and the black car is the top trim.

I personally feel Kia is making cars with mixed features to basically to test them. Propably they are not even sure of what variants to launch. There is no official statement.

To be honest, the non led lamps look great - they don't even look cheap and blends perfectly. Yes, the entire taillamp is a different piece just like the Creta. (Led and non led)

Delhi salesreps and dealers have the problem of over-promising and under-delivering IMO

Keep us posted as my dad might have to eventually go to Gurgaon/Delhi to see the car in person.

I wonder if dealer sales people are undergoing training they why the heck they are not being told on what’s to come? They are keeping it under wraps as if it’s some important FBI document. My gut feel says we are in for disappointment as far as GTX+ DCT is concerned.

Soft Launch done, Training Done...why no clarity.

If there's no clarity after dealer training, it's going to be an annoying conversation with the salesreps (who will get second hand info from the dealers who went to training). So, I hope Kia steps in and cleans up their act pretty quickly.

A key development that largely went unnoticed, launch of the Duster face lift and its pricing !!

The top of the line RXZ Diesel MT is priced at 12.09 ex-showroom. Why should the middle diesel TK+ and TX variants of the Seltos be priced higher?

1. Both duster and Seltos fall in the same tax bracket of 4+ meters long cars.

2. Similar engine outputs with Duster's 110@245 NM and Seltos's 115@250 NM. (Dusters ride and handling is class leading)

3. Duster RXZ Diesel MT has Apple car play, Android Auto, Cruise Control, 16' Alloys, Arkamys Sound, Auto Climate Control. The Seltos differential here is the telematics and all disk brakes(discs not confirmed for all variants yet). Bose speakers might be a eyewash like the mediocre sounding Infinity on the Hector.

In NCR 12.09 translates to 14.10 on road. Nothing justifies the 14-16 ex showroom price of the mid variants other than a unauthorized premium that a brand like KIA doesn't deserve. Caveat Emptor !!


PS: Creta diesel SX is already 15.90 on road here .

I am told there is one coming up near Infinity Mall Malad and another one in Andheri near Jeep and BMW showrooms. Hope there's an outlet in South Mumbai too.
