Thank you for your excellent report. You have made some very valid and sensible points.

Your observation about the absurdity of "road presence" is spot on.

I have also booked the GTX+ DCT in the Intense Red colour. In fact, I made the booking today with the Chennai outlet. My sales person tells me it takes about 5 to 6 months for the delivery to come through. When did YOU make the booking? How many months did you have to wait?

I am presently in Australia planning to reach Chennai in end Feb 2020. I hope to get the vehicle delivered when I reach Chennai.

Hyundai ( & Kia ) has hit a golden patch in the the gloomy environment. Venue and Seltos are a hit, so many cars on the road in such short period. Where as MG was apprehensive, Kia came all guns blazing, with stellar number of dispatches.
On the lower models, which have projector headlamp setup, at least the DRLs should be of warm(yellow) colour. The bluish white DRLs look odd on that setup.

I am sure people buying diesel variant of Seltos would have researched about running your car on BS4 fuel. Does Seltos use LNT (Lean nox) or SCR route?

If it is LNT, is it safe to use the car on BS4 fuel?

Just got delivery of HTK+ D MT and drove about 30 KMs to temple and home. Initial impressions looks good. Except for steering feel (coming from Punto) every thing feels a good upgrade.
For now sharing some pics, will update further as I cover more miles.

The interior space is not enough for 7 seats. I don't think there will be any sort of 7 seats being offered in a crossover. Even if they manage to squeeze in seats at the back, it will be a very claustrophobic experience. It's better to throw people in the boot rather than having seats

The dimensions will change obviously. If you look at the China version the dimensions are bigger so if they decide a 7 seater then definitely they would change it a bit.

Longish vehicle (7 seater) with a 'wrap around' (swift-like) A pillar will result in a weird looks.

Slightly OT But I don't get Why is our country obsessed with 7 seats? Why can't Kia try and get one of their premium hatchbacks in first before concentrating on the 7 seater market ?

Population. India loves a people mover. Just look at the success of the Triber.

And I think Kia and MG want to leave their mark on other segments before targeting the Maruti & Hyundai strongholds.

I'm wondering what makes them speculate this is a 7-seater? Looks identical to the regular Kia Seltos spy shots that were doing the rounds before launch.

If its really a 7-seater, no point expecting a spacious one.

Thanks mate for sharing regular updates on your ownership experience. 15 KMPL on a 1.5 NA vehicle weighing 1400 kgs is unbelievable. Real world average is generally 25-30 % lesser than the ARAI figures which is 16.5 kmpl for Seltos NA Petrol. Is 15 KMPL MID figure?

I have booked Seltos HTK+ diesel AT and then started my worry of using BS IV fuel in the car. As per Kia they have extensively tested BS IV diesel and say there is no issues using BS IV fuel. However there seems to be difference in opinion between Kia and Hyundai as they will be sharing the same engines. See Hyundai vs Kia diesel update



Being in Bangalore, I also looked at the BS VI availability and found some interesting news which might be useful here. Among the OMC's, MRPL and BPCL seems to be the first ones who will start supplying BS VI fuel as early as Oct-Nov 2019. BPCL will be replacing fuel between Oct 19 - Jan 20 followed by IOCL between Dec 19 - Mar 20 and finally HPCL.

I am not sure though if fuel stations will highlight BS VI as it becomes available and assuming it will be in some phased manner.
