The F-Pace was first introduced in the country in 4 variants back in October 2016. Now, Jaguar offers the F-Pace in a single trim level, powered by an Ingenium series diesel engine. The F-Pace Prestige comes with features such as adaptive LED headlights, reclining rear seats, 4-zone climate control, 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Wi-Fi hotspot and Pro services and an Active Key. The car is also equipped with a 380 W Meridian Sound System and configurable interior mood lighting with 10 colours.

The F-Pace is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine that produces 177 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 430 Nm of torque @ 1,750-2,500 rpm. The engine is paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system.

Bookings for the 2018 F-Pace are open and deliveries are scheduled to commence from the end of November 2017.

Pretty impressive, the price goes down by more than Rs 16 Lakh as compared to the previous CBU Prestige Derivative. Good job Jaguar

I guess the overall reduction will be higher. The tax amount will be lower and I believe the registration for CBU cars is very high too. Correct me if I'm wrong on that.

And just like that, the F-Pace is now within my budget .

Will certainly be test driving it once it's rivals have their latest offerings out in the market, i.e., the X3, the XC-60 and the Q5.

A more realistic price considering its cabin space & interior quality (good, but not excellent). The price cut makes the F-Pace a compelling choice - there's simply no other SUV which looks as stylish. The Jaguar brand is also a huge magnet for many customers.

Good call in starting assembly of the most popular engine, the 2 liter diesel. I guess the delicious 3.0 6-cylinder has been discontinued? Hope it comes back and at a reasonable price (3.0 carried an obscene premium earlier).

The price is now realistic. Was definitely not worth 90+ lakh OTR.

The website only lists the 2.0 prestige variant at 60.02L. It can now compete in it's own segment and not keep trying to fight a segment above.

Great move by JLR. Pretty good pricing for the kit level offered. They are finally getting serious, aggressive and competitive in our market.

I too hope the 3L version comes in soon at maybe a 10% premium at max for it to click.

Expect even better discounts this year end on the Q7 and X5 as they will find people moving to the F-Pace

This is indeed a massive reduction, the current prestige trim shows as 80L as ex-showroom price? That's a 20L drop, not sure if any additional features have been dropped!

That being said, the SUV is simply awesome to gawk at, find it very attractive. Given the reduction, it should be a stiff competition to others in this range GLC/Q5/X3?

Can existing Jaguar owners comment on the reliability? Was very interested in the Evoque till I came across multiple posts on LR issues.

That feels more like a pricing with intent to sell. The car has oodles of presence and character, and it looks like Jaguar is finally getting it right with the new models and its pricing. The XE doesn’t look prohibitive when compared with a 3 or the C, and now F-Pace is finally placed right as well.

My take is that JLR realized that the market was not willing to pay the premium demanded so they used localization as a excuse for price correction also. I don't think any other model has dropped by 20 lakhs purely due to localization.

True, they were trying to get rid of 2016 Imports at discounts, 3.0 L models had even higher discounts more like 20 Lac + but I don't remember exactly.

Jaguar F-Pace 2.0L Diesel Pure.Rs. 67.36 Lakhs.Rs. 7.5 Lakhs. Rs. 59.86 Lakhs.
Jaguar F-Pace 2.0L Diesel Prestige. Rs. 76.53 Lakhs. Rs. 7.5 Lakhs. Rs. 69.03 Lakhs.

The only model that's doing well and is being sold at Zero Discounts is Range Rover Sports.

Good point . I think it's a matter of localisation as well as making the discounts official (say, 10 lakhs each).

There is no way that the F-Pace was worth the earlier price, especially with the interior space & quality on offer.

Re: Jaguar launches locally built F-Pace at Rs. 60.02 lakh

Just test drove the F-Pace 2 Ltr version. Found the engine to be unacceptably LOUD / NOISY.
Also felt the engine was quite low on power for that vehicle weight and size. Got a similar feeling for the VELAR. The Engine noise was just marginally lower and also tyre noise was even higher in the Velar than in F-Pace.

Is this the general view as well?

The 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel is definitely noisier than the competition. And yes, the 2.0L diesel does feel low on power and a bit sluggish, even more so if you have driven the 3.0L diesel that was available initially. The competition from the lesser Germans and Swedish literally blows away the F-Pace in almost all aspects except maybe looks/character (which again is subjective). However, from what I've heard, the massive price reduction has definitely boosted sales and all of a sudden the laundry list of extra features available at Rs 20L less has actually caught the fancy of several buyers.

The Velar IMO is very...Meh! Just another expensive SUV types.
