Sorry for your loss, TATA.
Safari will be missed and will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with your business teams.
May our beloved Safari's soul NEVER Rest In Peace and Reclaim it's LIFE instead, in an all new AVATAR.

re: Tata Safari Dicor discontinued. EDIT: Indica & Indigo websites back up

Oh! That's sad, the Safari Dicor has been discontinued. Me & my wife always had this fantasy about owning a black Safari Dicor. It feels crazy, but somehow both of us seem to agree completely on this particular point if not something else!!

From the logical view, it's a correct business decision; there was no point in pulling on an already old product, for more than a decade. It was already old some 5-6 years ago, it seems very old now. But it's better late than never. On a side note, the Storme doesn't invoke that "kind of feeling" inside you, which the older one always did.

So the Safari will always be missed but never be forgotten.

re: Tata Safari Dicor discontinued. EDIT: Indica & Indigo websites back up

I feel it is a correct decision as Safari Dicor really lacks on interior quality and creature comfort offered in current generation cars.

This was my dream car in school days and I was blessed to have it after completing my graduation. Drove it for around 140k with no major issues and recently switched for an automatic drive. I can comfortably say if Tata would have rolled out the same features in Safari/Storme as in Hexa I would have been riding in Safari again.

Anyways it is the best possession for me and I will treasure it as long as possible. RIP Safari Dicor.

True but they had it on the website even then. Also I had seen Arias with more recent number plates. Not sure of they were from the existing stock or made to order

what is interesting to note is that in terms of sheer road presence, the 15 year old Safari design can still hold its own against the 15 month old Endeavour design. A testament to the timeless beauty of the Safari

So true even I feel Safari's design is much better than Endeavour. Since I own both hence want to pen down few unbiased points where I feel Safari is better than Endeavour.

Likes:
1. Middle seats and Front passenger seat is better in Safari.
2. Overall visibility and view is better in Safari due to more glass area.
3. Rear mounted wheel looks awesome in Safari.
4. Cabin is more airy in Safari than Endeavour.
5. Headroom is far better in Safari.
6. If used as a 5 seater Safari has more rear luggage space.
7. Access to 3rd row is better in Safari.

I completely agree with this statement. I have a Dicor and I never get bored of clicking its pictures again and again. It is indeed a beauty. I wish Tata had updated the Dicor with required creature comforts and features that the competition is offering.

re: Tata Safari Dicor discontinued. EDIT: Indica & Indigo websites back up

Indica and Indigo websites are back up. Am I missing something? Safari is missing in the lineup though.

IMO - High time they limited the lineup to just Tiago, Tigor, Nexon, Storme and Hexa.

I strongly believe that they're going to do an encore for the indica/indigo twins before shutting them down. at least they will try to get some ROI from their investment in the facelift ( which i had posted about elsewhere) in the pipeline.

re: Tata Safari Dicor discontinued. EDIT: Indica & Indigo websites back up

Others have put it more eloquently. I own a Safari from the year 2005 - first was a Safari TCIC and then a DiCOR. A long continuing relationship that I still cherish. There were many a times, I was running high temperatures and still had to continue the journey - she was there - immutable, stoic and almost inscrutable for me.

Re: Tata Safari Dicor discontinued. EDIT: Indica & Indigo websites back up

What is up with the Tata Motors team? Sheer negligence on managing websites or trying to drop a hint further about the future of the entire Safari brand?

Tata Safari Storme doesn't appear across the product link across MULTIPLE brand sites. 6 out the 9 brand website have link for Safari Storme as a product missing:

Tiago:

Tigor:

Sumo:

There's still a tatasuv.com domain which is offline from god knows when
Zest:

Below sites still have Safari mentioned:

Nexon:

Don't really know what to make of it.

Re: Tata Safari Dicor discontinued. EDIT: Indica & Indigo websites back up

Dear BHPians,

Tata has indeed finalized it's plans to Discontinue Indica & Indigo CS. Not sure about Safari though.

While the website was down & it again reappeared, Tata might have done that to provide information to interested customers.

When I say interested customers, these are the one's that have been offered those cars at an attractive price. So, there are stocks left at Tata's plant in Pune.

So, the proof of that is the message from Tata Motors.

Indica is being offered with discount of 1.5 lakhs, the last date to get one is August 25, 2017 or till stocks last.

Tata Safari Dicor discontinued. EDIT: Indica & Indigo websites back up-img_20170818_210158.jpg

I got this message via SMS directly from Tata Motors,(Definitely Not from Dealer). I get messages from them when my car is taken for service & once it's ready. I also use Tata Motors ConnectNext App which has all details regarding After sales.

Anyone who has contact with Tata Motors can confirm the same.

Looks like Tata is taking final steps before finally bidding adieu to their First Car, which was a Gamechanger

Thanks to Jaseel Babu for pointing out that the Xenon has disappeared from Tata Motors' website.

I think they'll continue selling the truck only in its more utilitarian avatar.
