Next-gen Honda Amaze to debut in 2018

Front view looks good. But the side view looks weird from this angle to the bonnet angle. Looks flat like in SUVs.

Nopes. Defenitely looks boxy from the front quarters. Front view is the best - where it resembles the City. Other angles are looking boxy. Much better than the predecessor though!

It could have benefited from a sloping bonnet, instead of a more-or-less upright one. The large rear window indicates more liberated space at the rear, which is always a good thing for Indian customers.

A big thumbs up to the developers. The Amaze now has it's own distinct identity, even though it has taken design cues from the Civic, the City & the WR-V. It's no longer a Brio-clone with a boot.

Also, the seats are much, much better than the el cheapo ones on the first gen. One can see separate headrests as compared to the single piece seats earlier.

The limited glimpses of the dashboard also show that there will be a decently sized (touch) screen display, as compared to the two-din one on the updated first gen Amaze/ BR-V.

Looking forward to this one from Honda. Hope they don't delay the launch by too much.

I still don't see any projectors or LED lighting system for the Amaze. In this era where the competition is offering LED projectors and what not, Honda could have given this car atleast a pair halogen projectors.

That being said, the car looks much better than the predecessor. Hope it gets ample features on the inside.

The design is very much in line across their models. Here is a stitch up of Amaze, Civic and the Accord 2018 versions;

This just proves that there is something seriously wrong at Honda. While they are trying to get to their past, with the hoffmeister kink and the continuous lines, but the proportions are all wrong, looks like no one had a good look at a 1:1 3d mockup.

The red car without the door moulding looks better than the silver car with it. The door mould shape is completely out of sync with the rest of the car.

Even the fog lamp bezels are a tad too small for the height of the front of the vehicle. All in all looks like someone just plugged in Honda-esque elements without caring to do it in the right proportions.

This again proves that car makers improved a lot in designing sub-4m sedans. Dzire now looks very proportionate. Tigor is a good looking sedan compared to the earlier Tatas. This new amaze, even with its quirky elements, looks far far better than the old Amaze.

Mostly the second generation and the Brio might be launched later.

Personally I have like the design of new Amaze. Looks more muscular from the front. I had put on hold my decision to go for new Dzire till the launch of new Amaze. Now that new Amaze is out, I have liked the looks of it. Now awaiting pricing as well as engine/transmission options. I am sure engine/transmission will be carried over from previous gen Amaze, so the dilemma will be to go for Dzire with AGS or Amaze with a CVT.
