I am unclear as to how big an issue this is (mine is a w11 (o) AT), but given that they are not being aggressive with their reach out, I suspect it's not a major issue. Nevertheless, if this is causing engine overheating issues, I would rather have it fixed earlier than not.

I own XUV 500 W 11 2018 model. I was called as part of recall last week. Upon asking what was the issue behind recall reasons given to me was , first, the new software update would avoid unnecessary battery draining which was happening with some of the cars from the new gen and the second ,additional hose to the radiator which I did not exactly understood. Kind of precautionary it seems.

My vehicle was perfectly fine before the recall and it took me not more than 40 mins to get this done. I assume it’s not major one but one should go just in case they are facing any issues with the battery in new gen car. This might be a solution.

Which service center did you take your cheetah? I stay in Hinjewadi so i guess nearest to mine is Sahyadri motors. Though i am not facing any battery drain but will get software updated anyways.

With the system on, press Mute and >> (seek) together, you'll get the versions. You need to get into software version (2nd in the left side list), and let me know what you see please.

Hey Amit, I made a mistake - you have to press settings (gear) button and mute button while the system is on to get the versions. Here are some screenshots from my truck - it's a Dec '18 manufactured cheetah...

Re: Mahindra XUV500 facelift coming, to get power hike. EDIT: Now launched @ Rs 12.32 lakhs

My 2018 XUV500 was lying idle for two weeks. I tried starting the car yesterday and nothing happened. Actually i couldn't even open the door with remote key. Had to use the manual key to unlock.

Multimeter showed the battery voltage was 4, so i have removed it and given for charging overnight at a battery shop nearby. The guy checked and found the distilled water levels were low, topped it up and started trickle charging.

Wondering if low water levels can discharge a 8 months old battery in two weeks time? None of the lights were left on, and the car is completely stock with no modifications whatsoever.

There was a reported update to the ICE system, please check the last couple of pages. Which month is your car manufactured? And can you check the version of your ICE?

Can you check the version of your ICE, and also tell us which month it's manufactured?

If we can figure out the version(s) that has battery drain issues, and the version that fixes it, we can give a heads up to all - maybe in a new thread.
