Re: Meeting the 2017 Maruti Dzire

Dzire vs. Ciaz ON ROAD prices in BLR. Clearly Ciaz prices are almost 2 - 2.5 L hire for each of the models. There could be some 20-40K discount on exchange as Ciaz is an older model.

However from below it is clear that Dzire is C1 cedan while Ciaz is C2 sedan in the pecking order from Suzuki. The inquisitive customer and that too in our Indian market is not so stupid as to spend 10L on a Dzire car vs. Ciaz just because they are not aware of Ciaz. So do not agree with the comment that Maruti is hoodwinking customers to upgrade from Swift without giving them a chance to see the Ciaz. Customers are preferring Dzire to Ciaz owing to the newer model of Dzire, the sub 4m making it easier to park, not to mention the better mileage, some preferring the looks and handling of Dzire ...etc.

petrol models ON ROAD prices in BLR:
Dzire Lxi: 664393, Ciaz Sigma: 985512
Dzire Vxi: 775802, Ciaz Delta: 1035879
Dzire Zxi: 857878, Ciaz Zeta: 1116580
Dzire Zxi+: 966221, Ciaz Alpha: 1183908

Diesel models ON ROAD prices in BLR:
Dzire Ldi: 842207, Ciaz Sigma SHVS: 1074981
Dzire Vdi: 891101, Ciaz Delta SHVS: 1131258
Dzire Zdi: 981706, Ciaz Zeta SHVS: 1208610
Dzier Zdi+: 1090051, Ciaz Alpha SHVS: 1340172

One more thing to note is that the price diff between Lxi and Vxi is more than a lakh while that between Ldi and Vdi is only 50K. Clearly they do not want to sell as many Ldis as they want to sell Lxis. Also price diff between petrol and diesel in the L trim is more than 1.5 lakhs and reduces to 1.2 lakhs approximately for the V and Z trims

Yes, clearly it is top notch as reviewed by everyone. That RavenAvi has booked this is also confidence inspiring for Dzire

All in all great package from Maruti with great pricing.

Seems like a review from the bottom of his heart. No 'technical-details flood' there, but he is very specific to the areas he is interested in, and seems very honest at it. One can sense that you are actually sitting inside the car while he is speeding.

Hate to say this but the console is still ill fitted as in the show car as in this post. I hope this is not the case in the models which will be dispatched.

A friend of Mine got to sample the ZDi+ and here's his review. Obviously not an auto journalist, but he has the previous DZire and thus he's in a good position to compare the two.
Good amateur review. Hee seems to be passionate about driving and loves his machines.

However, he could have done without Amaze/Xcent bashing.

From the review - i draw one conclusion. The wafer thin window glass of the previous generation Swift/DZire is a thing of the past and this one seem to have better sound insulating windows. So now the road noise insulation should be as good as the Xcent, if not better.

I had a chance to sit in Dzire while my car was getting serviced. Boot lid is wafer thin and really light. Space inside in comparison to Baleno is on lower side, as is leg room.

Baleno Zeta is approximately 50k cheaper than dzire zxi. Dzire has rear armrest, rear ac vent,35 litres of extra space, while it misses out on UV cut glass, front armrest, better MID and bigger wider tyres.

Almost all other features are similar. Smart key for Dzire looks cheap in comparison to Baleno.

Interesting comments and good comparison of prices. I think we should revisit the same comparison post GST kicking in (01-Jul) as GST is expected to lower the pricing of cars in the Ciaz segment thus reducing the price gap between the two cars.

Rightly said Also, not all owning a Swift will be considering Dzire as the next upgrade, one being a premium hatch and the other being a C1 sedan. Being said that I don't see a reason why the new Dzire won't make it big in the sales chart of Maruti. An overall good looking, practical, rightly priced sedan. What more would someone look for in this segment!

It should definitely be possible to install a reverse camera in the Dzire LXI. A tapping from the reversing light is all that's needed. You can get the average ones with monitor for about 4-5k. Cheaper options are also available.

Do consult with your dealer about the warranty or the lack of it, in case you are planning to get the work done from outside.

Re: Meeting the 2017 Maruti Dzire

I have almost finalised (and already booked) the new Maruti Dzire 2017 Petrol AGS (AMT) model. However the AMT issues on Celerio and Alto have got me worried. Haven't seen any issues on the previous generation Dzire diesel AMT on any thread. So hoping that the bigger 1.2 / 1.3 engines work better with the AMT.

During the test drive, I absolutely loved the manual shifting option and it's feel. Can anyone comment on whether using the manual shifting option for long durations or many times can affect the AMT unit / setup in any way? Know it's a dumb question , but not sure how Maruti's AMT units work considering various problems faced by owners.

Any feedback from fellow Team-BHPians on the previous Dzire AMT version would be greatly appreciated.

Agree about the upgrade part. And Yes this is going to set the sales chart on Fire.
But did you just call Swift a Premium Hatch? Call it segment leader; or Blockbuster MSIL product but please don't call SWIFT a premium hatch because that it is not!

Swift definitely is an A2 premium offering from MSIL, or at least it was marketed so when it entered the Indian market. Ref: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offici...ve-review.html No need to be shocked Being said that, I think we should concentrate the discussion on this thread mainly on the new Dzire.

Swift belongs to B2 segment.

A Segment: Alto, Eon, Kwid, Redigo, Nano
B1 Segment: Wagon R, Celerio, Beat, Tiago, Go
B2 Segment: Swift, Figo, Micra, Pulse, Bolt, Grand i10, Punto, Brio
B2 Premium segment: i20, Jazz, Baleno, Polo (though these are B2 hatchbacks, because of their price, features and positioning these can be classified as B2 premium segment)

We understand your sentiments though

Not sentimental here.

I was quoting the TBHP review of Swift "The Hyundai Getz was the 1st truly premium hatchback in India, but it's the Maruti Swift that gave the A2 premium segment the first successful car."

I stand corrected if that's not the case now
