Actually, beats me too. The New Octavia was already diluted on the handling and high speed stability front thanks to its MQB chassis. Now, expect matters to be slightly worse although the widening in track would marginally help.

Since the launch is on 13th, formal price list is expected by 14-15th. GST reduction is pretty much nullified with the 2% increase in road tax. Expect the prices to be pretty much same if not slightly higher than the earlier version. Can Skoda pull a surprise here and delight everyone by passing on some benefits?

I think the rabbit Skoda will pull out of their hat will be the Mid-Style trim. Even if they priced this one on par or slightly below with the earlier mid trim (Ambition Plus), it will be much better value because it will not have 6 airbags, full LED headlights and a host of other added features.

Yeah! Seems like it. I have a Diesel Pre Facelift, And The suspension works very well but if the pothole is a little big, it can't take it smoothly unlike the Independent on the petrol. Also noticeable is that the Torsion Beam Can be heard when it is on work

It's a shame that the Tsi is available only with the 7 speed DSG. wonder why skoda skipped the manual for this engine.

I expect the engine to be available n the two higher end trims, I.e., Style and style plus. All will be revealed at the launch later this week!

Btw - the ground clearance of 155 mm - is that according to the new regulations or the old? the old one was 155 mm, so I am assuming its the same, in which case this is a departure from the new norms, is it not?

It speaks about the legacy of Skoda and pride of ownership for the brand. It is an interesting piece and tells the story of the Skoda logo which I always wondered what it was about.

2017 Octavia launched,



Skoda India has launched the updated Octavia at a starting price of Rs 15.49 lakh. The top-end diesel is priced at Rs 22.89 lakh, ex-showroom pan India. While the starting price is approximately Rs 7,000 less than the outgoing car, the higher-spec models are priced a bit higher.

There are three engine and transmission options as well as eight trims to choose from - Ambition, Style and Style Plus.

I think there is a typo in the above prices, the manual Diesel Style is listed for 2 different prices.
Is it for the Style Plus MT or for Style AT??
