I have been following up pretty regularly with my dealer about the new Octy 2017 booking situation.
He called up today and has informed me that booking has started from today with an estimated delivery time of 10-12 weeks. Booking amount is supposed to be 2L. No firm idea on price obviously but expected to be about 2L more than the price of the 2016 variant. The top-end diesel was around 28L so I expect it to be around 30L all inclusive.
Might just go and book it this weekend . Anybody else have any other info?

The SUV standing next to the car in the first photo seems to be the VW Tiguan! The photos must be from the Aurangabad plant where both are made.

Chennai dealers are accepting VW Tiguan bookings with an advance of Rs. 1 Lac. Each dealer expected to get two units in the first lot. Pricing likely to be Rs. 35 Lacs on road.

Thanks for the photos. The car looks great to me! Do I detect a hint of the ambient light feature available in the Superb as well?
BTW - Booked the Octy yesterday . Delivery in the first lot after launch. Can't wait.

A little Skoda birdie chirps that the 2017 Octavia facelift will be offered in 3 variants.

Pricing is expected to be bumped by 1.5L-2.0L OTR across the range.

Any insight on whether the 1.8L TSI is still on offer. Internationally, skoda has switched to 1.0 TSI, 1.4 TSI and 2.0 TSI and phased out 1.8 TSI. Since we use CKD kits for assembly, and if the 1.8 engine is not produced internationally, we may be forced to switch over to the 1.4 TSI?

Does anybody know if there is a equivalent VW variant of the new F-A-N-T-A-T-I-C looking audio system shown in these pics? i am looking to replace my rudimentary looking audio system in Jetta comforrtline plz.

Those split headlights are actually cool, helps differentiate it from the Superb (for the time being incase that gets the same treatment), and also has a very retro modern feel to it like the W212

My rep told me that the 1.8 is going to be on offer. I have asked him to confirm which he will only be able to do once they start sales training in the first week of June. Stay tuned.

Opinions will be divided on the split headlamps. I prefer the older one.

In my opinion Interiors look quite basic. Especially the Dashboard. They could have brought it at par with atleast previous gen superb with a little wood treatment.

I agree. It has been my grouse too right from the very launch of the car. The dashboard looks a bit bland without the presence of any inserts(be it silver or wooden) to break the monotony of black and beige. I was hoping that they would bring about some inserts atleast in the facelift. But looks like it is not happening.

As per the VW group strategy, it is important to differentiate Skoda and VW cars visually, since they are based on common power trains and architectures. This is why equivalent cars such as Passat and Superb, which are identical in most respects, have different dashboard look and feel. The VW car will have more inlays, such as wood and metal/chrome, richer leather etc. and the Skoda car is allowed very little of this. Instead Skodas differentiate on space and practicality.

My 2016 highline Jetta has the same or atleast similar looking ICE system, 4 buttons on either side.
