2017 Hyundai Xcent facelift - more images surface

Thanks to Ehtesham Mahmood for sending these images in. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing it with other enthusiasts via this Team-BHP page!

More images of the upcoming Hyundai Xcent facelift have surfaced. The car in these new images appears to be a mid variant as it misses out on alloy wheels, but gets LED daytime running lamps. Other features visible in the images include ORVMs with integrated turn-indicators and reverse parking sensors.

The rear end of the facelifted Xcent looks very similar to something from the stable of Kia. That's the rear end of a Kia Rio. Can't help it noticing the similarities, especially the lamp cluster.

Very decent upgrade in my view. Car looks lot more nicer and upmarket. Also the Hyundai family look is more consistent. Mini Elantra. Hopefully this helps increase the sales of this model beyond what it is.

I too feel the effort of distinguishing the Xcent from its younger sibling is done well.

Looks like an eye sore at the first instance, but slowly you'll start liking it.

True as quoted, that the design in is line with Hyundai's 2.0 Fluidic design language.

Atleast now one can easily distinguish the Xcent & the Grand from the front.
The rear too seems more appealing than the previous Xcent.

Not to forget the love for Chrome that we Indians have that Hyundai decided to give it to us in the front & rear.

Some pics of the new Xcent. Previous gen was so much better. The front grille looks confused with too many angles. Getting rid of the chrome should make it better.

Overall the car seems to have a lot more character now and i think its a good thing. The Xcent didn't seem exciting enough and now it does.

The facelift looks ugly, compared to the outgoing model. Too much of chrome around the engine perimeter.

The rear looks decent in the facelift. It is successful in masking the narrow look of outgoing model. However the less said about the face, the better. Hyundai has totally screwed up the front looks. It does not go well with rest of the car at all. Outgoing model had a much better face than this.

The new Xcent was up online on Hyundai India's official website for a very short time, and a Car And Bike spy caught it before it was taken down.

The official background cover confirms the new 1.2L U2 CRDI engine in the Xcent, which has been carried over from the 2017 Grand i10.

From the image, it looks like the top end SX(O) variant retains the same design of diamond cut alloys, while the lower variant has got a new design as seen in pics before. Also, from the angle in the image the front end looks a bit more palatable than other pics - this is just my feeling.

The new Xcent gets a price starting at Rs 5.38L (Petrol) and 6.28L (Diesel) (ex-showroom Delhi). So, the prices have come down by around 4 - 6K!.

re: Hyundai Xcent Facelift caught testing. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 5.38 lakh

2017 Hyundai Xcent 1.2 Petrol Price:
  • Hyundai Xcent E: INR 538,381
  • Hyundai Xcent E+: INR 593,265
  • Hyundai Xcent S: INR 629,254
  • Hyundai Xcent SX: INR 673,765
  • Hyundai Xcent SX(O): INR 751,772
  • Hyundai Xcent S AT: INR 709,916
2017 Hyundai Xcent 1.2 Diesel Price:
  • Hyundai Xcent E: INR 628,281
  • Hyundai Xcent E+: INR 683,165
  • Hyundai Xcent S: INR 719,154
  • Hyundai Xcent SX: INR 763,667
  • Hyundai Xcent SX(O): INR 841,670
I don't understand why adjustable headrests are provided at rear and not at front. Airbags are standard however, ABS is available only on top two variants SX and SX(O). No EBD as well. Safety features should be standard.

Rear looks much better than before. 2 piece Tail Lamps give premium look but they are quite spread across. Slim profile would have worked better.

Front Grill is also big highlight in good way.

re: Hyundai Xcent Facelift caught testing. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 5.38 lakh

I've always considered this and the Amaze to be ideal cars for Bombay traffic. Shame the Xcent was discontinued in the AT top trim variant; I had a chance to buy it last Jan with a whopping 1 lac discount but chose the Elite i20 instead. It seems even the facelift is launched without the AT in SX(0) variant. So the AT doesn't even get a seat height adjuster.

Even in the manual variant, it is a pretty practical car for city traffic. In the Ubers, I have always preferred getting an Xcent to a Dzire. I wonder how this will stack up against the Tigor. Most of the sub-4m sedans are saddled with an ungainly trunk and the Xcent is no exception but the Tigor at least in the ads seems more well-proportioned.
