WR-V to rival Ecosport & Vitara Brezza.

Don't be surprised if Honda prices it above both those cars, even though it's a rival to the i20 Active/Cross Polo/Urban Cross.

Prices likely to range from 6.99 lakhs to 10.49 lakhs.

Do you think the Diesel VX @ 10.49 is worth that much ? I would rather buy the Ecosport Titanium/Titanium+

If the above price does become a reality, I will say it's a Stupid Pricing from Honda.

Honda are smart though. They'll quote the sunroof when asked why such premium pricing?

Honestly I'm utterly disappointed by Honda. They add one or 2 segment first features and charge obnoxiously for that.

Honda has seriously lost the plot ever since they launched the 2014 City.

I hope the WRV is a flop and Honda comes back to it's senses.

I think I've finally got this 'Premium' hogwash figured out.

What Honda want to do is ensure their cars don't sell, then justify the premium for exclusivity.

'You see, we intentionally don't sell our cars to every Tom, Dick & Harry that wants one. We make sure they don't want one at all. For a mere additional bazillion rupees, our accessory chaps will even install a series# badge so you can proudly flaunt your exclusivity'.

What's not to like?

Do not worry, IMHO, it's a dead on arrival. None of the first drive reviews on the youtube talk about anything significantly positive over the competition.

Price is the only trump card, which Honda surely cannot play given the perceived illusion of premiumness. Others have caught up & moved ahead. It will not be long before they realize.

On the contrary, all the prospective customers of Jazz would be lured into WR-V at a little premium, which is what Honda might be targeting.

Well to contrary opinions here I guess it has quite a bit going for it if it is launched at the breeza and ecosport price points. The 6 speed box on the diesel, the roomiest interiors, the sun roof, probably the most fuel efficient engine, pretty decent butch looks with a good amount of chrome and modern design bits. So unless Honda screw up royally with the price, I see quite a few takers for it. I think they are just testing waters to see how well it is received before launching a CVT and magic seats variant.

re: Honda WR-V production begins in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 7.75 lakh

Honda is missing a huge trick by not offering three potential USPs - 1.5 i-VTEC, Magic Seats and CVT. Moreover, knowing Honda it's gonna be pricier than the Brezza and Ecosport, both of which are well established products.

The WR-V has its work cut out. I don't really see a bright future for this car. Apologies if I sound too harsh.

The fact that they are not launching the CVT, indicates to me that this is going to be a pricey car.

re: Honda WR-V production begins in India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 7.75 lakh

Happened to pass by a Honda showroom en route to juhu yesterday evening. Decided to step in and try my luck to catch a glimpse of the wrv. Expressed my interest for the jazz/ brv/ wrv. Heard the following gems from the SA.
1. Jazz is the best.
2. Don't go for brv as it gives a mileage of only 7-8.
3. If I show you wrv, will be fined 3 lakh by the company. They don't want its photos on the web.
4. Wrv is a "special lifestyle vehicle" which is unique.
5. It's gears are so smooth, u don't need an automatic.
6. It is just like s cross but has a higher ground clearance!
7.jazz v cvt has magic seat only in the front passenger seat!!!!
8. Adaptive gridlines (in the reversing Camera display) are not available on Any car. Only 'ultra luxury cars' like Mercedes have it.
9. Poor chap didn't even know the features of the various models. For that matter didn't even know that a variant called s cvt is available.
Whatever happened to professionalism?!!

This is probably the only way for Honda to make money off this "Winsome" dud.

1.5L + Automatic could've really worked, instead of a sunroof. Whatever Honda!

while you are definitely entitled to your opinion, i don't know why has everyone turned cynical even before giving a product a fair chance. sorry, am quoting yours as only a representative post on this thread.
i have seen all the first drive reviews posted on this thread, none of them is talking about anything negative over the competition either. in fact none of them is even comparing this with anything else. these will, undoubtedly arise after the car is launched. but don't we all think/ realise, its very premature to write off something even before we've had a look at it in flesh?
having owned a 1st gen jazz, i had a look at the current jazz only yesterday. as the honda showroom was located right next door to a hyundai (probably the same owner), checked it out next to an i20. was seriously surprised at the space on offer. acres!! maybe mor ethan the 1st gen, at which I was shocked! I am 6'2" and my wife is also equally tall, we had no problems inside. on the other and, the i20 was cramped in the rear seat. yes, the jazz does miss out on glitzy things (and foolishly too) like a folding key, a start stop feature, adaptive camera lines, foldable OVRMS, touch screeen, adjustable rear head rests etc, but the importance of each is different to each one of us.
Considering that the wrv is 45(?)mm longer with a longer wheelbase, I, for one, would be really interested in the interior space (Btw, the reviews also say it has oodles of space). not having fully flat foldable seats IMO is a bigger issue rather than the magic seats, which i have rarely used.
No car is perfect, and each one of us is fully entitled to our opinion, but let us not crucify a product for the heck of it without even seeing/ experiencing it. having said that, i would've loved the WRV to have a CVT. why Honda Why?
