Mercedes-Benz will be launching the AMG C 43 in India on December 14, 2016 at the Buddh International Circuit. This will be the company's thirteenth and final Indian launch this year. The automaker had earlier announced that it will be launching 12 cars in India this year. However, at the launch of the facelifted CLA last week, Mercedes confirmed that there was one more launch coming in before the year ends. The AMG C 43 is also the third AMG car of the year after AMG GLE 43 Coupe and AMG SLC 43.

The Mercedes AMG C 43 will essentially be a performance-oriented iteration of the C-Class sedan. The German automaker already sells the AMG C 63 S in India, in addition to the C 200 and the C 250d. The AMG C 43 is expected to be introduced between the C 200 and the AMG C 63 S.

Powering the Mercedes-AMG C 43 is a 3.0-litre bi-turbo V6 engine that churns out 362 BHP and 570 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. It also comes with Mercedes' 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.

Can be a practical option for someone looking for an entry level, daily use sports car. Now only if MB can price this around 60 Lac

How can it be 80-85 lacs when the SLC43 AMG is 77L. This definitely has to be less than the SLC.

In the US, the SLC43 costs 61k while the C43 costs 52k. Expect a similar pattern here. My bet would be 62-65L ex showroom

Likewise the C43 costs aprox U$ 52k, so hopefully Merc can price it within 65L ex-showroom for India

C43 will certainly cost very similar to SLC 43, the C-Class Cabriolet worked out better with its ex-showroom price due to some benefits that engines below 2L enjoy in India. (I am afraid I do not know what the benefits are but I know this car will cost close to 90 on road with an added +/- of 10%.)

Again all this data from this website wouldn't that have no correlation to the prices of the product at launch? I believe cars bought here for homologation sometimes have a few features that may or may not make it to the final product?

All aside on a lighter note let's hope they do keep Memory seats on this,

They should have gone for the C43 coupe instead of the sedan. This car will anyways only see single digit sales at most and for just the exclusivity factor, Mercedes could have attracted some more buyers towards this car.

Also, they are diluting the AMG brand by stamping these "kitted" cars with an AMG badging. C450/GLE450 was perfectly okay name but they want to make it seem like it's part of the AMG lineup by rebadging these cars as C43/GLE43/SCL43.

The pricing should be around 60L. This is not a Full Fledged AMG. The actual beast is C63 which should be priced around 90L if they plan to launch it in India. This is a entry level AMG car.

Would be interesting to see whether they will launch the C63 after this launch, I guess many would be content with the C43 performance itself, given it also comes with 4Matic as standard.

The AMG C63 S was launched last year for 1.3 cr , and I doubt the standard C63 would be launched.

You're right, the coupe would've been a smarter choice to launch in our market. The C63 S coupe would be a good launch too, to compete with the M4.

Mercedes-Benz has launched the AMG C 43 in India at a price of Rs. 74.35 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It has been placed between the C200 petrol and the AMG C 63. This marks the thirteenth and final launch from Mercedes-Benz for this year.

The Mercedes-AMG C 43 is powered by a 3.0-litre bi-turbo V6 engine that churns out 362 BHP and 520 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 9G-TRONIC gearbox. It comes with the automaker's 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. This powertrain is capable of accelerating the car from 0-100 km/h in a company claimed time of 4.7 seconds. The top speed has been limited to 250 km/h.

The AMG C 43 comes with 5 different driving modes: Comfort, Sport, Sport +, Eco and Individual. Other AMG-exclusive features offered with the car include AMG Sports suspension system and AMG sports exhaust.

On the outside, the C 43 AMG gets a new front bumper with larger air intakes, bigger AMG-spec alloy wheels, new rear bumper with integrated diffuser and a subtle bootlid-mounted spoiler. The interiors too get some sportier design elements, including red seat belts, aluminium accents on the dashboard and optional red inserts on the door pads. It also gets an AMG-style instrument cluster with a 5.5-inch multifunction display and race timer.

So the price, sales advisor gave me was close, perhaps he had referred as On-Road prices which is a normal practice here. Coming to the car, is this essentially a 6 cylinder Petrol with AMG kit? or has some pro stuff from regular AMG range?

Its basically the top of the line C class, which is not a proper AMG. The engine is not handbuilt at the AMG factory in Affalterbach. Its the same way BMW is diluting the M name with models like the M340i, etc

It will be a very practical car with 4matic, and very controllable too.

But its a good price, no doubt. Hoping to see many of them on the roads.

It gets AMG sports exhaust and adjustable suspension over normal C. Not much else. This is basically a watered down mass market version that is supposed to be the replacement for the erstwhile c450.

At around 65 this would have been a good deal. At 75, it's just too close to the Cayman which is a better choice any day of the week.

I don't think anyone looking at a 718 would look at the C43. They are too far apart. Also the 718 will miss the additional grunt that the C43 has, since there are no S versions yet. Lastly the 718 at 78/80 is pretty barebones, and most of the options cost a lac or more.
