Jeep seems to have opened its showroom on Inner Ring Road Bangalore.
Saw a Silver Wrangler Unlimited being polished through the window while passing yesterday.

Also here is a Jeep Compass I saw last week in Melbourne. Must be the current gen one though.

From the photos, I feel the Compass to be in the league of XUV500 & Hexa & not the Endeavour/Fortuner.
Being manufactured in India, it surely should be priced well.

The Compass will be both manufactured and exported from Fiat's Ranjangaon plant outside Pune and will feature an extremely high level of localisation. This allows Jeep to price its SUV competitively, somewhere in the region of Rs 18 to 25 lakh

This one does not look like the current gen compass, the rear is definitely smarter in the current gen than this one.

I have seen this in person and looks very desirable; something like a mini-Grand Cherokee!

Size-wise it is a bit bigger than Creta & Duster for sure with an imposing and elegant front.

During my recent trip back from Jaipur I saw a few Test mules (2 different kinds). All of them were MH-12 Reg. but could not identify them. Specially the test mule with square tail-lights. (Images attached). They were traveling from Jaipur towards Delhi
I searched through various thread but could not place these pictures into any existing thread. Please move/merge this thread to any other existing thread.

2017 Jeep Compass SUV to be launched in August 2017.

Jeep Compass will be launched in India in August 2017 and we expect the Jeep to price the SUV around Rs 20-25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Globally the Jeep Compass SUV rivals the likes of Mazda CX-3 & CX-5, Nissan Juke, Chevrolet Trax and few others but in India the car will go up against Honda CR-V and Hyundai Tucson

The Jeep dealership chaps also mentioned this but not with great conviction.
They did say though that it will be priced at 16-18 lacs.
Means that it will hit the road in Bangalore at 22-23 lacs which is quite a good price until one starts comparing International prices for the same spec.

The Wrangler Unlimited at even 50K USD for the top spec comes to only 35 lacs.
Here at 91 lacs it just remains completely out of reach.

If I ever consider the Compass at 23-24 lacs I will feel somehow short changed.

I really wish they would bring the top spec Patriot and Renegade in their Trail Rated 4WD or 75th Anniversary editions/ versions and I would certainly consider these - Petrol or Diesel, either would do me nicely if priced well.

Else I shall just have to keep my 5 year old Yeti which now seems extremely VFM at the 19.5 lacs I paid for it on road!
And anyway now my old used Gypsy is there at one-tenth the price of these new Jeeps so all my 4x4 needs are pretty well sorted at the moment!

If I do go for a Jeep some day then it is a pure indulgence to my emotional connect with the brand, but to spend 23 to 30 lacs on 'emotional indulgence' seems a bit excessive right now, since Im not exactly suffering from elephantiasis of the bank roll!

I got some similar figures (16-20 Lakhs) from the local dealer here. Interestingly he also mentioned the launch of a sedan in this calendar year.
