Recently completed transfer of ownership of car using Parivahan Portal. While the process was smooth, there was confusion regarding visiting the DTO (District Transport Office) after completing of online formalities like document upload and payment. Turns out I had to visit the DTO, then find my car's registration file, then hand that to a lady who wrote something and slipped it in, then I had to take the signature of the officer and then finally submit it to the IT guy.

In all this, I did not have to pay a single penny as "bribe". The officials simply carried out their work which left me happy because the last time (2008) I visited the same office for DL detail updation, I had to shell out 2500 rupees otherwise my file would "mysteriously" keep getting lost. After it happened four times, I got the hint and paid the amount they asked.

I had to pay only 450 rupees in the Parivahan portal for transfer of ownership and that was it. Happy that this has cut down the scope of officials to indulge in corrupt practices.

MoRTH has extended the validities of certain expiring documents because the Parivahan portal was down for most of early February.

I had lost my license(not sure where) in Feb 2024.
Although physical license card is no longer required and DL in DigiLocker is enough, I decided to apply for a duplicate license through Parivahan portal.

An online article lost police report was submitted using https://kspapp.ksp.gov.in/ website(Karnataka only).
Next, applied for the duplicate license in Parivahan portal by filling the form and attaching the above report.
Paid around 659 including card charges.

Then the waiting game started.
I filed 2 grievances to make it move faster, but I am not sure it helped.
Had almost given up hope, when one day got an SMS(after around 6 months) saying that the DL has been dispatched via speedpost.:Cheering:

Finally got my duplicate DL on 22-Aug-2024.

It seems the Parivahaan app is not working since many days. Any update ?

Hasn’t been working on iPhone for more than 15 days now. It’s kind of risky, for I rely on this app whenever I am flagged down for ‘checking’.

It's perfectly working on my Android. Try reinstalling.

I noticed this about 15 days back. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app twice, but still unable to login. Eventually I gave up.
Either developer pushed some bad code for IOS app or app owners are completely unaware that IOS app is broken.
So much for pushing to go digital on everything, when a critical app stops working.

The app still refuses to work on both my iPhones. Working perfectly okay on my mother's Android.

used Parivahan as recently as July to transfer the ownership of a 2 wheeler that I bought. Of all the things, I paid nothing as a bribe. I had to visit the RTO twice, 1st to understand the process and the documents required and second to submit the file with offline signed hard copies of the transfer forms and RC Card. It took 1.5 months after that and I finally received the updated RC Card on Monday (9th Sep)

I am facing a peculiar problem with the app, posting here to see if any one has faced similar issue and has a solution.

I have a virtual DL in the app, this DL is expired and I have a new DL now. When I try to add the new DL to app, it says that I already have an active virtual DL and asks me to delete the old one first. Makes sense.

However, my expired DL which is there as virtual DL in app is greyed out with Download Icon showing up, if I click on the virtual DL (download icon), there is a popup for Date of Birth. After entering DOB it takes me back to same page with the existing virtual DL greyed out.

Basically old DL cannot be downloaded/deleted (may be because it is expired?) and without deleting it I can't add a new DL.

Raised a complaint in the app, got an email 3 days later asking for screenshots of the DL which I sent and since then no updates (been months).

If anyone has any suggestions/solutions please do share.

For everyone else, make sure you delete expiring license from app before it expires.

There will be a refresh button. Once you refresh new DL info will automatically get populated in the app.

Yes, that refresh button is also greyed out and a Download button is there instead, clicking on that asks for DOB and once entered nothing happens.

Yes Mparivahan is not working on Iphone spoke to customer care when i was flagged down for checking customer care had no update when it will work on Iphone but they confirmed that its only working on android better keep physical documents in hand.

Its more than a month that the Parivahan app is not working on iOS. And this is not the first time. Just like cash (is the king), we should carry all physical documents in the vehicle and not rely on these apps to produce the documents if required. I used to refer to the app to check the PUC and insurance expiries but with the app not working, I am back to fiddling papers now.

It's working today. Please update app from App Store and re-register. It worked for me just now. Looks like they are listening to us :)
