Credit to my good friend Nikunj for taking these snaps.

Some points:

- Press the "DISP" button on the touchscreen HU for the display to go into standby mode, displaying a large central analog clock and the day and date on the bottom center.

- No dead pedal is on offer. The floor is slightly raised beside the clutch pedal to offer some respite for the left foot, although it's not enough.

- The 7-inch AVN system has a clear, sharp display.

- No Distance-To-Empty (DTE) or Real-time Fuel Efficiency indicator on the speedo's mid screen. You can toggle between ODO, Trip 1, Trip 2 and Car running time.

- No ABS on offer.

- Comes with dual airbags.

- Fabric upholstery provided on the seats. Feels soft to the touch.

- Power-folding mirrors are offered, but locking/unlocking doesn't auto-fold/auto-open them.

- This particular car was shod with Goodyears.

- Gear shift quality feels much improved and slicker, compared to the older Grand i10.

- Normal "flippy" keys are given with the Sportz(O).

The last piece of the 2017 Grand i10 puzzle falls into place - here are the newly designed 14-inch diamond cut alloys, which are offered in the Asta and the Sportz(O) AT variants.

re: Hyundai Grand i10 Facelift. EDIT: Now launched (page 8)

Dear Hyundai,

I would like to be safe AND have the convenience of an auto transmission! There are two ways of solving this problem. Offer an AT on the top variant and more importantly offer ABS and Airbags on all variants!

I literally went across the street and booked a petrol Ignis Zeta Amt. Would have been happier to give you more money for a 4 speed torque converter, but I guess i'll save Rs 60,000.

Dear Team-Bhp Readers,

Please Talk to your Friends & Family if they are considering purchasing a new vehicle. Inform them of the importance of safety feature (Inform them of the best options available in their price range) and encourage them to spend their hard earned money on something that will protect their loved ones. More important than looks or other features! This will also have the effect of encouraging automakers to take this more seriously.

Infact even the Ignis has many safety features missing that make it a 5 star pick in other markets. Even the rear seats are different and of better quality (not sure about front seats) in other markets. But i can live with that since people need to be able to afford a car for it to make business sense. Still side airbags as an Alpha (O) would have been nice.

End Rant

Something's off with the website, the 'Price' section doesn't list the Grand i10 in the dropdown at all. i10 listed is the now-discontinued older model.

Also, couple of strange things in the screenshots above. The list shows the Asta petrol cheaper than the Sportz(O) by 50k ex-showroom, and the diesel options are still listed as older 1.1 U2 CRDI engines.

Earlier Asta had the AT. I supposed to consider it. This facelift disappointed me.

Darn - I wonder what's wrong with the chaps at Hyundai. How difficult would it be to give an AT with ABS and a seat-height adjuster? It would probably cost them a few thousand rupees to incorporate which the end user would gladly pay.
If these features were incorporated, it would make an ideal city run-about.

I would anyday buy a car with ABS + Airbags over one with 7" touch screen display + Airbags.
It's possible (even in the DIY way for the autoholic) to procure and install a touch screen HU from the aftermarket options. It's next to impossible and cost inefficient to install a ABS system out of the factory.

My 2 cents here, Hyundai follows the policy of customer should see the features.
When I bought i10 asta AT back in 2012, the sportz version did not have ABS but had airbags, electric heated mirrors, electric adjustment for mirrors, rear wiper, and defroster. Features that are seen by the avg Joe who will not take the pains to locate an abs unit.

Couldn't agree more with you. I was looking out for this launch and to be honest, lack of ABS disappoints me. Ignis; despite its many glaring omissions from its global version, is still fares better then i10.

While a company known to sell cars to price conscious consumers (who presumably do not care for safety features) is improving on its safety records, Hyundai is taking opposite path. Not Done Hyundai.

+1 to that. The Ignis Sigma for example makes more sense than the Gi10 Era at least in this department. I don't care about the odd looks as long as safety is not compromised.

A missed opportunity for Hyundai! They should have at least given an option of safety features and AT together. I was just driving around in my son's Grand i10 Auto, today, it's such a hoot to drive, very comfortable and refined. it's the old Asta AT and it's bare bones, with no airbags and abs.

  • Petrol (AT): Rs. 5.98 - 6.86 lakh
  • Diesel (MT): Rs. 5.68 - 7.36 lakh
Prices are sorted by variant (thankfully), erroneous entries under petrol removed, and the diesel engine is correctly named.

Don't think an Asta AT was ever sold by Hyundai without ABS / Airbags.

Pre Facelift Asta didn't have ABS & Airbags. Manual was offered with Option Pack, but Auto didn't.

In fact, ever since the Grand i10 was launched, the Automatic versions didn't have Safety Features.
