re: Hyundai Grand i10 Facelift. EDIT: Now launched (page 8)

The good thing is that I can spot a reverse camera on the Sportz(O), and maybe parking sensors too:

The bad thing is that it doesn't get height-adjustable neck restraints.

re: Hyundai Grand i10 Facelift. EDIT: Now launched (page 8)

The LED DRLs on the Asta happen to be linear strips located next to the fog lamps, and not circular ones near the headlamps (as on the facelifted European i10). On lower variants, there are chrome strips in place of the DRLs. It should be fairly easy to add LED DRLs as an accessory on the non-Asta variants, I guess.

Believe the AT will come out in the Sportz variant and not in the Asta as before and therefore will miss out on ABS

Team,

Exclusive to Team-BHP: Here are the complete details of the 2017 Grand i10 facelift!

Hyundai Grand i10 Facelift. EDIT: Now launched (page 8)-w7.jpg

Points to note:

- The all-new 1.2L, 1186cc, 3-cylinder diesel produces 75PS of power and 194Nm of torque. That's a power boost of ~5.5% and a torque boost of ~19% over the old 1.1L, 1120cc's numbers. Hyundai claims that the change in diesel engine size and boost in power/torque numbers was done after taking customer feedback into account.

- Fuel efficiency figures have marginally improved. The 1.2L diesel delivers 24.4 kmpl (over 24 kmpl of the 1.1L), while the 1.2L, 1197cc Kappa petrol has been fine-tuned to deliver 19.77 kmpl (the older 1.2L gave 18.9 kmpl).

- The 2017 facelift now sees the inclusion of an Alternator Management System (AMS) across all variants for better Fuel Economy results.

- The Asta trim includes:
Automatic Climate Control (FATC),
a 7-inch Audio-Visual-Navigation (AVN) touchscreen system (with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Mirror Link, Bluetooth, USB, Aux & integrated reverse camera display),
Voice recognition button in the steering-mounted controls,
Newly designed 14-inch 8-spoke diamond cut alloys,
DRLs in the foglamp sections, and
a reversing camera.

- The new Sportz(O) trim gets all of the above MINUS
the Automatic Climate Control.
Also, the 14-inch diamond cut alloys are available on the Sportz(O) AT only.

- The Sportz variant sees the inclusion of a 5-inch touchscreen audio (with Bluetooth, USB & Aux) system and semi-vinyl upholstery.

- The body shell of the 2017 facelift has been structurally reinforced for a better result in any NCAP crash tests.

- Hyundai's new "Cascade" type design (on the front radiator grill & air dam) has been introduced.

- Hyundai claims to have added the convenience of "wheel air curtains" around the fog lamp area to improve the aerodynamics and reduce the coefficient of drag and tyre noise, thus improving on in-cabin noise and offering better fuel economy.

- The 2017 Grand i10 is now offered with a standard warranty of 2 years and unlimited kilometers.

Big thanks to my birdies.

re: Hyundai Grand i10 Facelift. EDIT: Now launched (page 8)

I own an April 2014 example in the Asta(O) trim. I missed climate control, the auto dimming mirror and drl's in my car. Welcome additions. I am indifferent about the touch screen music system. I noticed that the price has been jacked up in the last three years. My Asta(O) was 'listed' at 5.4L at the time.

Great info there buddy! Looks like the Gi10 still misses out on ABS and airbags as standard across variants

Welcome additions indeed. Might be worth the increased prices. But I'm missing the auto-dimming mirror in the previous posts. Where is it mentioned? I'd love it if the new car has this.

Should have provided ABS from Magna or at least Sportz variant onwards.
Lack of a fully loaded AT variant is a disappointment.

My bad. It doesn't get auto dimming mirrors once again.

Deliveries commencing before the official launch? I guess they ran out of deliveries and couldn't keep the customers waiting for fear of poaching by rival brands.

Spotted this glitch, on what seems to be an official presentation -

Hyundai Grand i10 Facelift. EDIT: Now launched (page 8)-hyundai-gi10.png

The Mustang used to illustrate aerodynamics on a Hyundai presentation. That is some credit to the people behind the Mustang's aerodynamics

Reminds me of the use of Mahindra Maxximo mini van along the pages of Tata's annual report.

re: Hyundai Grand i10 Facelift. EDIT: Now launched (page 8)

It's good that they've provided 14" diamond-cut alloys even on the top variants (instead of providing 15" ones, like on the Xcent). This should enable an easy switch to wider and/or higher profile tyres. 175/65 R14 or 185/60 R14 would be good upgrades from the stock size of 165/65 R14.

An Asta AT is a must! I don't understand why it was left out. I hope customer demand eventually forces them to introduce one.

I was wondering what "DRM" associated with the radio was. Here's the answer:

Quote:
WHAT IS DRM?

The Digital Radio Mondiale is a digital radio standard that has been designed by broadcasters, for broadcasters, with the active assistance and participation of both transmitter and receiver manufacturers and other interested parties (such as regulatory bodies). It has been designed specifically as a high quality digital replacement for current analogue radio broadcasting in the AM and FM/VHF bands; as such it can be operated with the same channelling and spectrum allocations as currently employed. An overview of the frequency-bands where DRM operates is shown in Fig. 1 below:

It's not the new brochure, but (leaked) slides of an internal presentation - most likely training material for salespersons.
