Priced very aggressively I must say, Tigor is a lakh cheaper than Baleno RS! Now over to the mods for the review. But any way interested folks should quickly book the car. Who knows what features might not be available couple of months down the line

These are fantastic prices! I guess this is the best car right now in terms of bhp-per-rupee! Never has 100+ horses been more accessible, a genuine sub 10s to 100 hatch at below 7 lakh rupees ! Eagerly waiting for the embargo to be lifted. The Tiago XZ costs 5,32,000 in delhi for reference.

TLDR:;

Tiago loses out on Reverse camera,electric boot lock and the auto climate control. Rest it obviously has a rear wash wipe over the Tigor.

Colours: Just the 2 options we have seen. Red(with black accents), and white (with red accents) in both the cars. I suppose keeping the number of SKUs effectively down to just 4 help in maintaining the inventory

Yes that is more than 11, but that is what the website mentions. and No, not all Tata dealers in these cities are Tata JTP dealers, so check the website.

Great pricing, but I do not agree with the 30 dealership thingy. Tata is not Maruti to pull this off. 30 dealerships is a wafer thin network to be honest. In maharashtra it will be available only in Mumbai, Thane and Pune. That is blasphemy IMHO. Do they think only metros will have demand for performance editions?

Even in Mumbai it is available at Prabhadevi & Chembur. That is a very thin reach. Feels like Nissan dealer network!

The price is as expected. 1 lakh above the XZ variant for respective cars. So 1 lakh extra gives a turbo, bigger tyres and bit a of premium styling. Now, compared to Baleno RS, Polo TSI and likes, JTP is an extremely VFM proposition, no two thoughts about it. However, compared to XZ variants, I wonder how many would want to spend a lakh more for what JTP offers.

I actually believe that the major demand will be in metro cities only. Tiago and Tigor is a budget brand. JTP suffix does not transform budget brand into premium brand overnight. So smaller city folks may still tilt in favour of regular variants which offer even better value for money.

And till now, there is no mention of fuel efficiency anywhere. If this engine is as powerful as Nexon, efficiency might only be as close to that, which is about 17 kpl compared to 24 kpl for Tiago.

They might increase the dealer network gradually over time if there's sufficient and sustainable demand over the coming months. I still feel the volumes may not be high enough to cause any major constraints or bottlenecks with the existing dealer network. Let's see though. Hope I'm proved wrong.
