And they already showcased, six airbags, sunroof and CNG variant in the Auto Expo.
Although they have everything in their arsenal, the price of Punch will go up by almost 1.5 lakhs by adding sunroof and DCA.

E.g.:
Price gap between Altroz XM Plus (MT) and XM Plus S (Sunroof) is 45k.
Price gap between Altroz XM Plus (MT) and XMA Plus (DCA) is 110k.

Re: Tata Motors aims for a top 3 spot in PV sales!

Tata July sales - 47,689 units
Hyundai July sales - 50,701 units

Seems like both of them are stuck at those numbers, YoY and MoM growth is near zero for both manufacturers.

Below is the wholesale breakdown. Nexon 2023-facelift wholesale is in full swing, and lower Harrier and Safari numbers indicate the imminent launch of Facelift.
  • Nexon - 15,325
  • Punch - 13,036
  • Tiago - 6,789
  • Altroz - 6,684
  • Tigor - 1,534
  • Harrier - 926
  • Safari - 516

Re: Tata Motors aims for a top 3 spot in PV sales!

Harrier Twins and Tiago lost at least 4K units together.
Tiago losing is surprising where it has a model at a spread of 5L margin.
Need to see how Tiago EV is doing.

Re: Tata Motors aims for a top 3 spot in PV sales!

Not sure if this is the right thread to put this but at the end of the day all are numbers games so let me ask this here.

Tata just had a spectacular last few weeks. A heavily refreshed Nexon/Nexon.Ev followed by superb Harrier and Safari refresh. As this will keep them busy in terms of sales for few months, the R&D team I am sure will be already working on the next few releases.

So what can we expect from them in the next 5-6 quarters to keep climbing the ladder?

1. Punch with DCT
2. Punch EV
3. Altroz with Turbo DCT (?)
4. Punch EV
5. CNG models with Automatic (I believe this will be the ultimate gamechanger)
6. Curvv
7. Sierra
8. Harrier Petrol/ EV versions
9. Safari Petrol/ EV versions?
10. Saw some MPV news.

There has been no news of what they will be doing with the Tiago / Tigor siblings. Rather than an ALFA based new generation, there might be a facelift, sooner or later. The EV might carry some distinct looks this time. The interiors are due for an upgrade too.

The siblings' Petrol + CNG + EV variants will give them decent enough numbers for the next few years.

Re: Tata Motors aims for a top 3 spot in PV sales!

An interesting quote by Shailesh Chandra on the same.

Quote:
You are at number three in terms of sales, and Hyundai Motor India is at number two. With the new launches, do you think Tata Motors would be able to overtake Hyundai?

I am not worried about that. My worry is that I have fewer products. I don’t have the same portfolio size that somebody has. For me, it is important that whichever segment I am present in, in that respective segment, I am in the top three. So, Tiago is in top three, Tigor will be three or four right now, Nexon is number one, Punch is number one, the Harrier and Safari combo is number two in its segment.

I am focusing on how I can be in the top three, mostly top two. The gap that has increased with our closest rival (in terms of sales) is because we have launched a new vehicle. Also, in the last quarter, we deliberately reduced our volumes of Nexon, Harrier and Safari because of the switchover. Now since we are transitioning into the new one, I will have to clean up the inventory of the old ones and then do a smooth switch to the new models. It’s a matter of timing.

Re: Tata Motors aims for a top 3 spot in PV sales!

TATA Motors expects record sales in CY & FY 2024

With product roll begining after a long hiatus since Punch in 2021, Tata motors has solely relied on upgrades and the Nexon, Harrier and Safari were the last to get updates late this year. Now TAMO expects a huge assault on the PV market with a slew of new launches most of which will be EVs starting with Punch EV and ICE followed by the all new Nexon based EV CURVV.

The Nexon refresh has recieved a whopping of 1 lakh bookings with about 85k for ICE and 15K of EVs. They expect a 10% growth over 2023 to 5.5 lakh units PA that comes to around 55-58k monthly dispatches along with the commencement of manufacturing of the Sanand plant acquired from Ford.

TATA is yet to upgrade its hatchback segment with TIAGO, TIGOR and ALTROZ still running on older design.
