Re: Tata Motors aims for a top 3 spot in PV sales!

Super month for TATA again. It will be interesting to see the break up of that 27K cars.

Lately it has been good competition between Altroz and Nexon to be No. 1 TATA car in terms of volume and TATA will not mind that..

Re: Tata Motors aims for a top 3 spot in PV sales!

Very happy to see TML on the podium yet again. Makes me wonder how much better the Altroz would have done had it been given a proper automatic transmission.
At least 2 people I know absolutely loved the car but didn't end up getting it because they didn't want manuals. The Altroz has the potential to outsell the Nexon. Hoping the Safari is well received by the market! Next few months will be interesting.

Can't wait for the HBX and the Altroz EV to add value to their lineup next.

Nexon is the best selling Tata for Jan 2021.. phenomenal performance by Nexon..Lifetime high monthly sales for Nexon. Same for Altroz as well

With Safari launch and HBX in the pipeline, thins are looking red hot for Tata..

Re: Tata Motors aims for a top 3 spot in PV sales!

Got the annual service done for my Zest yesterday at an authorised service centre in Mahadevapura (5 years, 47000km completed).

Being a Saturday, service centre was crowded with about 110-120 cars coming for service. Mostly Tiagos & Nexons, with a sprinkle of Altroz, Harriers and Tigors. My Zest and couple of old Safaris looked the odd ones out among the sea of handsome newer cars

This is a far cry from few years ago - when my blue car looked the odd one out among a sea of white Indica cabs

Wishing Tata motors all the best in their future products - their design language and commitment to safety of late has made their cars desirable.

Not bad at all. So, it is safe to say that whatever Tata gained over last year (3.8%) is has all come from Maruti, which has lost over 6% during that period. I wonder what the management at Maruti headquarters are planning to stop this.

I agree completely, in urban India today automatic transmission is no longer a luxury option. Hence offering cars without an auto option is bound to have some impact. Tata has done many things right in the last few years, it needs to consider automatics as essential in its line-up as well to keep growing.

Re: Tata Motors aims for a top 3 spot in PV sales!

Good show by Tata. The product portfolio is quite diverse and at good price points.
The launch of HBX should brings in more customers from the hatchback segment.

For Maruti, the lack of diesel engine option when the fuel prices are at all time high is affecting sales. Tata is making hay at Maruti's expense.

Another Steller performance for TATA. Great going.

They need to bring the HBX at the earliest with all guns blazing. Also they should provide much needed engine upgrade to Tigor which will help bring in more numbers from other OEM and not by eating into own siblings.

Re: Tata Motors aims for a top 3 spot in PV sales!

So there's only one dud in the Tata stable now - Tigor.
Justifiably so since both Dzire and Amaze are good VFM products with far better backseat space.

Time for a Tigor LWB ! (Remember those massive Meru Indigo XL cabs ?)

I have always felt that the Tigor should be wider and sit a bit lower. Both Dzire and Amaze are wider when compared to either Tigor or Xcent, and appear deceptively larger despite being sub-4m sedans.

I am not sure whether the current platform allows Tata Motors to enhance Tigor's width by those precious few millimetres.

Tata Motors sales up by over 500% in March 2021

Tata Motors' domestic sales grew by 505% in March 2021 as compared to the same month last year. 66,609 units were sold last month as opposed to just 11,012 units in March 2020, when the country went into lockdown following the outbreak of the Covid-10 pandemic.

Passenger vehicle sales were also up, with 29,654 units sold last month - the highest ever monthly sales in 9 years.

In FY2021, Tata sold 2,22,025 passenger vehicles - the highest ever annual sales in 8 years; registering a growth of 69% compared to the previous fiscal.

In the EV segment, Tata recorded sales of 4,219 units in FY2021. The carmaker sold 705 electric vehicles in March 2021 alone, while the total sales in Q4 FY2021 stood at 1,711 units.

Tata's commercial vehicle sales in March 2021 grew by a massive 593% to 36,955 units compared to the same month last year (5,336 units).
