Re: New Mahindra MPV caught testing in Chennai. EDIT: Named Marazzo

Mahindra Marazoo Price List. Undercuts Innova easily, and available space against new Ertiga (and Ertiga's price) will define how this M&M product will perform on sales chart. Has potential, and if efficiency is good, I guess it will be a reasonable hit in cab market. Addition of AT might get it minor nudge on sales figure.

Re: New Mahindra MPV caught testing in Chennai. EDIT: Named Marazzo

Am wondering, why would not a potential client not pay the extra bucks for the XUV500 instead?

e.g. Marazzo M8 v/s XUV 500 W9 has a sticker price difference of <10%.

Such overlaps exist in every segment with the next segment. For eg. Amaze top end vs City entry level.

In case of Mahindra, though, XUV is a monocoque whereas the Marazzo has a body-on-chassis with a FWD configuration, so I'm sure there will be takers for this, especially among those who are specifically looking out for a people mover. You will find more Marazzos than XUVs as taxis for sure!

re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

This pricing is exactly what Renault did with their Lodgy. And they failed miserably. Any reason for Mahindra to succeed with the Marazzo?
Being a Mahindra product, it will sell a bit more than a Renault (brand matters), but I don't see it selling much more than 2000 per month at best.

I am hoping Mahindra will prove me wrong, though.

XUV 500 has very poor third row. Someone looking for a proper three row will opt for Marazzo. XUV 500 has relatively poor ride quality. XUV 500 in the latest iteration though improved still suffers from high lateral movement. I am assuming Marazzo will have better ride quality ( going by what Mahindra management has been harping about. ) So people prioritizing comfort will opt for Marazzo.

re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

Looks ugly, in my opinion. That toothy grill, chrome around the fog lamps, large tail lamp, chrome belt all screams C H E A P!

Again, why should anyone buy this against the Lodgy, which is 2+ lakhs cheaper?

Marazzo developed in Detroit by Mahindra North America, and designed by Pininfarina - according to Anand Mahindra, in an interview to CNBC TV18.

I kind of like the styling. If you're going to make a minivan and need it to sell, you better make a good looking one that people will look at.

I think that job is done pretty much. It has that sharp front with the rake and a pretty tight side profile with sharp lines.

Only think I don't like is the overly busy d pillar. Too much going on. I think they wanted to add all design elements. blackened D pillar for floating roof effect - check. Kink in rear quarter glass - check. Tail lights with a small kink - Check.

re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

A rare recent Mahindra design that I don't find offensively overdone. Won't win any beauty contests but that isn't a thing in the MUV space anyway.

The car looks good, seems adequately powered on paper, but real world practicality of a body-on-frame FWD(?) remains to be seen.

Feature spread will probably be rationalized as part of 'facelifts', lower and mid variants have some glaring omissions considering the price brackets. This ain't an Innova where people will pay ~20 Lacs and not frown at the missing music system.

Good effort, would like to see this car do well.

The old Matador had the same layout.

And am sure there are many models from Europe that had the same layout.

My guess is that it has to be some kind of hybrid type chassis (old Discovery?).

Here are few pics taken by GaadiWaadi team. The interiors look very classy and very spacious.

The car also looks good in white color. I guess we can call it 'The Great White Shark' here. Eagerly waiting for the reviews to see how good the new chassis and engine have shaped up.
