Wasn't the Matador van a body on frame with front wheel drive ? combining the 2 statements, I am wondering if this is what the new MPV is going to be ?

re: New Mahindra MPV caught testing in Chennai. EDIT: Named Marazzo

Mahindra's MPV shows more of its face when spied at night - external details doesn't show any of the usual 'quirky' designs normally associated with the brand.

Quote:
Mahindra's trademark 'toothy' inserts to the wraparound headlights with inbuilt projectors and the shape of the LED Daytime Running Lights that outline the fog lamp enclosures. The cab-forward design, the heavily-raked hood, positioning of the wheels at the four corners

re: New Mahindra MPV caught testing in Chennai. EDIT: Named Marazzo

Mahindra will officially christen the MPV on 31st July. Will it have a name ending with a single 'O' or will it have 2 of them?

Well, I think MUV300 or MUV500 seems to be a reasonable name. Because, unlike the prefix XUV, KUV and TUV, MUV actually has a true meaning in the automotive world. But knowing Mahindra, they might as well call it PUV, NUV or HUV.

This reminds me of how the Ertiga was branded as an LUV, aka Life Utility Vehicle .

and it ends with an 'O'. Mahindra Marazzo, interesting choice of name, it is a good name for a car, it means:

But it might backfire, people could easily relate it to the word 'marz' or 'maraz' which means disease

Looks like this is the name. The website has been registered. The who is look up details are same for Mahindra XUV500 as well.

On the other hand, Marazzo in Italian means bog, swamp or marsh.

Mahindra should have just stuck to the XUV / TUV / KUV nomenclature patterns. How does a word like marazzo connect with the customers? I mean its like they could not come up with a name and went ahead with what seemed to be available! Globally many auto manufacturers are resorting to giving alphanumeric combinations as names as they do the job. Its not like the name determines the product. If you are able to get a good name then its fine, else just do not force something.

I think you are referring to Tivoli. This thread is about the MPV that Mahindra is launching. Both are different.

re: New Mahindra MPV caught testing in Chennai. EDIT: Named Marazzo

So our guess was right. The website www.mahindramarazzo.com/ is up, it confirms the name of the production version of U321 is Marazzo.

More interestingly Mahindra will reveal the design inspiration.
