The dealership on Monday which is owned by Mahindra themselves in Mumbai had no clue about the W6 automatic. The SA told me everyone there was excited about the TUV and that there is a more powerful engine coming for the same and all concentration of sales was on that aspect as of now.

Creta A/T costs 15.20 Lacs, ex-showroom in Mumbai. If you do not need the above features, it is better to save 90k and get the XUV5OO W6, which is a full size SUV.
This is indeed a smart move by Mahindra - Hyundai should be worried. The real coup will be when they offer W6 AT AWD and knowing Mahindra, they will price it aggressively. That will fill the vacuum in yet another unexplored segment.

Cheers !

The list of variants mentioned at the Mahindra XUV website doesn't talk about W6 AT either.

And if budget is not an issue, then the XUV W8 comes will all the bells and whistles you will ever need!
W6 had front and back fog lamps, its there in my W6. Did they removed it from W6 when they refreshed it?

The website mentions W6 does not have fog lamps.

Not much of a bother since they have added the colour touch screen infotainment system to the W6 instead of the monochrome display.

On the safety front, its only the Side and Curtain Airbags that are missing in W6 AT when compared to W8, W10 variants. ESP, Hill Hold and Hill Descent Control are a welcome addition to the W6 AT variant which are not present in the W6 Manual variant.

Is this confirmed information? Could not find any concrete news source for it. Brilliant if W6 has so many features added. Makes it THE best value proposition in and around that price bracket IMO.

Yes. It's updated on the Mahindra XUV500 site.

Excellent move by Mahindra. Although I am not a big fan of Mahindra products and their designs, I have to respect and appreciate the company on how quick, response and pro-active it its.

They are very quick to respond to market conditions.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 W6 AT launched at Rs. 14.29 lakh

While the XUV still has a few rough edges to sort, I feel this is a fantastic move by Mahindra. Now unless someone really wants a smaller car, there is little sense in optiong fo rthe more expensive Creta. Its good to note that M&M have added ESP and Hill hold to the W6, along with the Colour infotainment system. The earlier B&W system was a huge turn off, and one couldn't change it either. The XUV also offers cruise control and all wheel disc brakes which makes it amazing VFM.

Another personal liking on this variant are the fabric seats. I've always found the leather seats on the XUV to be hard and slippery, while the fabric seats on the w6 are supremely comfortable.
