Mercedes have gone ahead and brought the new SLC43 AMG in. The SLC is the global replacement for the SLK and gets the AMG treatment as well.

Powering the SLC43 is a 3.0L V6 engine capable of 367HP and 520Nm of torque, delivered via the 9G-TRONIC transmission. 0-100 km/hr comes up in 4.7 seconds with electronically limited top speed of 250 km/hr.

Grossly overpriced for a 2-door convertible. I get that it is targeting a niche market, but still. And 0-100km/h in 4.7s, heck my A45 can beat that, and it's less than half the price.

No way Mercedes will price it around 60L, more like 70-75L ex-showroom for sure.

True the 45AMG can beat it hands down, these are just AMG kitted cars with some extra goodies so that Mercedes can overcharge buyers.

Sir, the price hasn't been revealed yet. That's the price tag merc imported the car for and its 16 lacs not 1.6 crores

D'oh! Thank you for pointing that out Suraj25! I misread the decimal places and thought it was 1.6Cr

Yes, if this car is priced right, it will sell in sizeable numbers, even though it is not very practical for everyday use.
Also as an aside, does anyone know if Mazda has any plans to enter the Indian market? The MX-5 roadster is such an awesome little car and Mazda have some great cars in their lineup at the moment.

SLK 200 starts at 70 lacs so expect 1 cr plus pricing for this. Merc is not looking at any cheap convertibles for its brand.

Mercedes India will launch SLC43 AMG on July 26

Mercedes-Benz will be launching the Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 in India on 26th July 2016. The SLC will be replacing the SLK 55 AMG which has been on sale in the country for quite some time now and had gained its reputation as one of the best luxury convertibles in the country.

The SLC was first launched at the Detroit Motor show early this year and within a few months’ time, it is set to be launched on our shores. The SLC 43 takes the design language of the SLK forward and now sports a new front fascia which will remind you of the new A-Class. The back, too, has been updated with new bumper design, although the SLC looks largely similar to the SLK from the sides.

The SLC 43 will be powered by a 3 litre V6 Bi-Turbo engine that produces 362 bhp and 520 Nm of torque and will come connected to a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission. The SLC, despite being an AMG offering, uses a smaller engine than the outgoing SLK which had a massive 5.5 litre naturally aspirated V8 capable of producing 414 bhp.
