I don't think the Captur was for the masses in the first place. The Duster is for the masses.

The strategy is similar to what Maruti offers with the Brezza and S-Cross.

I agree the sales of Captur have been a dud. It's very difficult to sell cars in India for foreign manufacturers not having the Maruti/Hyundai/Toyota badge.

Duster was a mild success because it got the first mover advantage in the compact SUV segment. As in 2012 there was no Creta nor Ecosport.

New marketing campaign for the Captur. So Renault decided to ditch celebrity glam and focus on the real strengths of the car. This feels a better approach that they should've opened with. But better late than never.
