Another product with no Petrol AT/CVT and at a super premium price. This pricing will make Compass even more compelling.

Disappointing to say the least. I believe Renault are looking at selling not more than 100 units a month. That will make Captur an exclusive product on-road.

I agree this is an industry with high infant mortality, but I noticed a lot of obituaries written on Captur even before its birth - a tad unfair I must say!

Having said so, I am still intrigued by Renault's steadfast silence on product features and credentials, particularly after India leadership announced product arrival, positioning it as a 'very premium' product than Duster.

Most unfortunate thing he mentions is price in range of 18-20L OTR Hyderabad.

No CVT/AMT/AWD as of now

I don't see how this vehicle is going to succeed at all. In other markets, where it is sold as a Dacia, it is equivalent to our Maruti Omni type of low budget type vehicle. So Renault wants to give a slightly bigger duster with a different color roof and call it premium?

Will it be just showing the car and announcing few details? or will they be launching in whole? I mean announce the price and make it available to the market.

Any insights from the Renault dealers?

Title of the 2nd video says Glimpse 2 of 5 so clearly 3 more videos to come.

Cardekho has compiled a nice comparison of Captur vs. Creta vs. S-Cross

From all angles, Creta seems be the one with the most aggressive appearance with proper SUV looks. Captur has more of a sensuous curvy look normally seen in a hatch while S-Cross has the best crossover looks

Both Creta and S-Cross are super well loaded with features and dash looks good. Let's see what Captur offers

Will be interesting to see if Renault launches Captur with AWD / CVT / AMT

Buzzed Renault India

Most initial comparisons of the Kaptur are with Creta and the S-Cross, would be a disaster if Renault thought differently and priced the product way higher.

Creta is almost unbeatable in its segment now and a refreshed S-Cross is going to find it hard to garner even 1/3rd of Creta's monthly numbers. And I expect Maruti to load the S-Cross pretty well.

Renault should think the Jeep way, price it very attractively, even slightly lower than the Creta, get the interest level up and if needed raise the prices a little higher 6 months down the line.

Saw this Captur hoarding with a "Coming Soon" tagline outside the IGI Airport terminal in Delhi.

Captur's interior looks quite bland. If the interior is going to be quite similar to what's shown in some of the pictures on this thread then good luck to Renault. Captur will be a dead on arrival product if they price it on par with Creta. If they price it on par with Duster then it "may" have a chance.

Among the vehicles in Creta's segment, I am drawn more towards the Captur. I like large hatches more than SUVs and may be that's the reason I like the flowing design and stance of Captur more. With Duster's underpinnings, I am sure ride and handling will be segment best.

The European Captur has sliding rear seats (wonder why since there is no third row!). I would prefer reclining rear seats and also carry over the removable boot floor panel from the Captur.

Teaser 3 released.

Looks like LED headlights with signal.

I think the green house of Captur doesnt look that long in pics compared to what it actually is because of the design. It hides it because of the low roofline and seamless flow. Hope the rear seat knee room is better than the Duster. Being Euro, they have a knack of reducing the interior room even though the overall length is more :) Cant beat the Japs in this regard.

Looking at all the teasers, this definitely isn't gonna be on par with creta. Definitely not.

My Choice of preference:

Front profile:

S-Cross>Creta>Captur

Side profile:

Captur>S-Cross>Creta

Rear Profile:

Creta>Captur>S-Cross

Engine (Diesel Only):

Captur>Creta>S-Cross

Transmission:

I would go with AMT or Six Speed Manual.

Why don't we have an individual poll for these parameters? :) What say fellow enthusiasts?lol:
