I may get flamed for this csnanjappa, but IMHO:

ONLY TO SELL GT TSI

Though GT TSI is an excellent premium hatch, majority of its USP is that DSG gearbox.

No TSI can every be as frugal as a TDI engine. So TSI with DSG will never be as fuel efficient as a TDI with DSG. Ofcourse, NVH is a completely different matter altogether.

If VW added the DSG to the 1.5 GT TDI, the price would shoot up to ridiculous proportions and if it was somehow "Believable", VW would have given its customers no real reason to go for the GT TSI.

They really should do that actually, now that the 1.5 TDI qualifies for lower excise duty. TDI + DSG in a Polo sounds like a good prospect. They are trying everything under the sun to stretch the Polo's shelf life, they might as well give the DSG a shot with the TDI.

The Ameo is coming with the tdi dsg which is one of its USPs. So I doubt the GT TDI will get a dsg in the near future.

I'd be more interested if they removed the DSG from the TSi. How about a stiffer suspension and a 6-MT?

Ameo will fall into all together diff category of ugly looking CS , for customer who is looking for good looking car like polo GT i don't thing he would go for Ameo.

Anyway , if someone is looking for CS sedan with diesel auto transmission Ameo would be their number one choice.

Do we have any updates on the launch of this 'new' facelift? Those headlights (if they are the same ones that were there on the car on display at the auto expo) should change the visual appeal of the car considerably. And I feel there might just be few more changes to justify the idea of a facelift.

Anyone got any news on whether a facelift is coming on the Polo/Polo GT this year?

I've been getting conflicting views from different dealers in Mumbai. One says the facelift will have DRLs, reverse camera and armrest (the All-star has the latter two). Another claims no DRLs but the diesel engine will be updated to the new 110PS unit on the Ameo (with DSG apparently). Really getting impatient now. Just want to book a new diesel GT manual and get it over with!

There is a facelift expected before a new car (new Polo/ ?) will be launched in ~ 2018. Expect the facelift to appear in early 2017.
